It's like miles going 11-2 in 2010 with Gary fricking crowton as OC

Yeah, the record was good, but you could see the major downfall of the team.

If Mainieri doesn't make Omaha next year, things could get really interesting.

I dont believe that PM will be on the Hot Seat next year especially having just won the SEC and hosting and winning a regional and then hosting a Super Regional. Now I will say this, Stony Brook sure didnt make anyone feel better with their dismal performance at the CWS. Im talking being outscored 21 to 3 in two games and 2 and hit the Barbecue.

Well he sure ain't about to replace Kyle Peterson in projecting Omaha favorites. "If there is a better team out there than Stony Brook, I haven't seen them.".

This is a situation similar to Miles and Crowton.

Let's just look at the numbers assuming LSU hosts a regional and makes a super regional.

5 postseasons in 7 years. 4 hosted Regionals. 4 Super Regionals. Only 2 trips to Omaha. And obviously, 1 National Championship, which buys him an incredible amount of good will. But, conversely, will have been 4 years without a trip to Omaha following a National Championship win. Would be really hard to argue that the program is still on the same level as it was in 2009.

I continue to argue that the standard and measurement for success is trips to Omaha, not SEC Championships or playing in Super Regionals.

THIS. I am NOT satisfied with the LSU baseball team getting a Super Regional every year. We need to make it to Omaha. 3 straight years is bad enough. We have too much history to keep missing out on it.
