Could the point be made that it boils down to player safety? Hmm that sounds familiar...

Not just player safety, but fan safety also. It'd be cool for Alleva to play that card even if it isn't the strongest argument. For the '13 Florida game players were cramping up all over the place and I remember hearing about some fans passing out in the stands. My parents were sitting on the east sideline and my mom had to leave because she was feeling sick as a result of the heat.

Maybe they could set a date before which no day games could be played in certain regions? I don't know. It sounds wimpy to bitch about the heat, but seriously, day games early in the season suck down here. And if it would get us more night games then I'd be all about it.

Alleva has no say so in the matter. The decision is made at CBS in New York, and then in Bristol after CBS gets first dibs.

Is there a limit on the number of times CBS can pick a team in a season?

It just pisses me off that all the damn Bama and Auburn games are always switched to day games, takes away our rabid fan advantage, etc so that SEC makes more money and we are always the ones screwed.

When is the last time Bama or Auburn were ask to take one for the team?

Me too. Except for the fact that they aren't.

I do not know that for sure. I would think that a team hasn't been on CBS more than three times a season but don't quote me. It depends on who is ranked where and/or what game CBS thinks will have more viewers. It is all about the Benjamins.....

LSU hasn't played Bama during the day since 2010

No other school in the SEC views playing in the showcase game of the week on national network television as "taking one for the team." As long as LSU is a good program we will have to put up with a day game or two a year. Suck it up.

I agree, it's all about the $$$$s.

I went back to the 2005 season and 3 times is the most home games we've had televised by CBS in the afternoon. 2008, 2010, & 2013

Correct. And it amazes me that people are still complaining about this. TV runs the show when it comes to game times. Has been that way for a long, long time.

So although I also would love for all of our games to be at night (like when I was a kid in the 70s), that's not today's reality. Learn to live with it. And by the way, the trade off is that TV pays us A LOT of cash.

Isn't there a way to create artificial lightning with a rocket? Can we get a few of these in the air every 30 minutes to delay the game until night?
