Is Les Miles pissed that Cam's offense gets creative?

Think about it. Soon as Harris came out we opened it up. Screens, TE's, 10 yard passes to receivers. We learned that all offense goes through Les now maybe Cam said frick it I got somebody that can sling it. Les seemed to be pissed about Etling slinging it around. Pro style offense is our best bet and not les's fortay. Also stop that toss dive bullshite. Thoughts anyone?

He looked really pissed.

He is just a stubborn arse coach that has been coaching scared for years. LSU could have scored 50, if he would let Cam call the game like did in the second quarter he won't stay out of the fricking playbook.

He looked like an old man who had been exposed as a fraud. He doesn't like it.

You sound as if you see what you want to see and what you don't see you imagine. When Etling showed that we can actually execute an intermediate passing game, the "toss dive" type plays actually can gain some yards. By the way, didn't you see Miles on the shot of Miles on the headset with the Playcard. He and Cam were in sync. Didn't we run a pro style offense when Mettenberger was here?

He has no idea what he was watching; probably miffed that his OC and team didn't stick with his perfectly good game plan.

Yeah, I don't get it.
It seemed so effortless when Etling came in, I wondered if we were calling different plays. I think they were the same plays - Harris just can't make the reads. I think he locks on to a receiver - and that's the end of it.
Etling had a few bad throws but his poise alone earned him the job IMO. I know he checked down at least twice - something Harris seems to struggle with -
same with AJ. He also had good pocket presence. 3 or 4 of his incompletions were at least a good read (his target was open).

Same plays, they were just executed correctly by the QB and pass plays weren't changed to run plays at the line of scrimmage.

why you think they went back to 2 receiver routes in the second half?

The most amazing thing was getting to the line with 15 seconds on play clock and not looking lost for every snap.

This... I couldnt have said it better. Most around here are idiots that only see what fits in their preconcieved narritives.

Les is pissed because he wants a high school option-looking offense that runs for 300 yards a game, but he's too stubborn to play a modern offense because it goes against his vision

I think THIS is the primary reason for LSU's terrible passing attack over the years. 1 and 2 receiver routes with 1 of the routes being a zip/streak....so if it's intercepted it will simply be like a punt. This is how Miles thinks IMO.
A play with 4 or 5 receiver routes forces the defenses to cover all options - thereby opening everything else up. Our QBs certainly can't make 4 reads/check downs but it doesn't matter. He doesn't need to.

This is not true. We were calling the same plays. The first play of the game for LSU was a wide open five yard route that Harris threw so high the receiver could not even attempt to catch it.
If they come back and complete the same route with Etling guys like you say that they're "opening it up". If by "opening it up" you mean throwing it too recievers instead of over their heads, then yeah, we opened it up. Then we closed it down in the second half.

Maybe he wasn't pissed at the game, but under inconceivable amounts of stress after the beating he took this week?

He will put the brakes on etling!!he hates the calls last night when cam opened it up.he is horrible and will cost LSU 5 losses!!maybe he can get canned the 5th game of the year!!

Anyway, I shocked to see the checkdowns. He looked like a QB who could think quickly and knew his options that existed. He certainly still needs work, but what I saw was encouraging (and yes, Miles looked pissed ans he needs to just go ahead and let his gray hair go natural because that reddish Just for Men crap he's using looks like shite).
