Is Jamie Howard one of the most under-appreciated Tigers of all time?

While he is thought of fondly, I’d argue he’s not appreciated enough.

First, he was a highly recruited QB and chose to go to a really bad LSU team under Hallman.

Then, after getting CRUCIFIED after the Auburn interception game, he redeems himself the following year against Auburn and helps brings back the magic for the program.

Finally, he raises a son with the same unwavering love for the program that he had.

I don’t know…just reading about his son last night playing golf with BK at Top Golf got me thinking about ol’ Jamie.

Really good Tiger.

Yes and he gets remembered for something that was coaching related.

He was definitely the victim of some of the worst coaching in NCAA football history.

And if memory serves me correct, the Braves came back each off season offering more money to quit football and go baseball full time. Don’t think anyone would have blamed him considering the mess Hallman had going. Yet he declined each time and finished his out his four years at LSU.

He’ll be appreciated plenty once his kid gets here and starts balling out.

Curley Hallman's legacy on all 5 of those INTs that one Auburn game.

Underappreciated, indeed.

Wonder if he’d have been any better focusing full time on one or the other

Twilie with the pick off in the corner of endzone to close it off.
Doesn’t that seem like eons ago.

Only time in my life that I said a prayer for an outcome during a sporting event.

We were that desperate.

Yes. Curley snatched defeat from the arms of victory by trying to run up score and play stupid football.

Jamie was definitely under-appreciated and miscoached.

Brian Kelly won’t do that with Walker.

His play was average but the way he was treated by some fans is shameful as hell. For that reason i respect the hell out of him and hold him with high esteem.

Edit: and yes, his coaching was terrible and hopefully everyone knows he was a better than what curly did with him.
