Landry is our best and top receiver. Can you imagine if we fed him the ball, the offense would look explosive. Just give Landry - Mr. Showtime the ball.

If Mett could learn how to put touch on his deep balls he would have 20+ TD's this year

Landry still drops. Maybe I'm the only one who remembers anything from Ark other than the TD catch.

No idea the actual numbers, but I bet Wright has a higher catch % than Landry. Fewer yards and less passes thrown to Wright.

And I'm not saying JW is better than JL. But for two years all I've heard is how great Landry is, and aside from maybe 3-4 catches I haven't seen it.

You must be single, apparently you have masterbated yourself blind.

Was there SOME issues at QB at begining of season. Yes.

Did the receivers drop a ton of passes first part of the season? YES

Did the o-line have trouble giving Mettenberger time to throw for the first part of the season? YES.

There were multiple reasons the ball was not consistently thrown in general (which includes being thrown to Landry) for the first part of the season. To say its because Mettenberger finally decided to throw to our receivers is retarded. Even Miles said that he sees better catches than the one Landry had almsot everyday in practice. But you are kidding yourself if you think any of the receivers (including Landry) were catching passes (like they are now) in the first half of the season.

Mett's job isn't always to put the ball in the receiver's numbers... sometimes he has to put the ball where only his WR has a CHANCE to make the catch. He has done that all season (more consistently now with more reliable receivers and consistent play from the o-line).

In SEC play, getting just a few feet of seperation from the coverage is generally all you can get in man coverage. (unless you have an absolute beast at receiver, or its a blown coverage) Tight coverage means the QB can't just throw the ball directly to the receiver's chest because its too close to the cover man. Put it to his outside by 2-3 feet, and only the receiver has a shot on the ball.

Wright might find himself way down if dural comes back healthy and we get the 2 juco wrs.

Dural is running btw and should be good by spring.

Exactly. I actually was defending our 2 qbs last year because even though they werent very good, our wrs werent making the catchable ones. Wrs that get drafted high like an aj green, catch anything thrown there way
Doesnt have to be on the numbers. Thats what makes an elite wr. One we havent had in a while.

Best Route Runner, Best Blocker, Best Hands! Is he the fastest? no Is he the most athletic? no Is he the most hyped? no Does he need more playing time? ABSOLUTELY!

For those that plan to bash me for saying hes not the best blocker...than why is he in there 90% of the running plays

For those that say he cant catch....he has the least amount of drops than any WR all season..in fact his season drop total is less than single game drops by Landry and especially ODB!

Landry even knows that Wright is a very good wide receiver...he even mentioned it in an article that he looked up to Wright!

Not sure if serious...

1) Les doesn't call the plays... in certain situations yes he does. But on the normal downs, no he doesn't (99% of the time)

2) Just because a WR is the first read on a play doesn't mean the play was called for him. And the only reason a certain WR is the first read is because of his WR position. I have heard different terms on the teams I played for as to how the different receiver's positions were labeled. Basically you have a WR 1, WR 2, WR3, and so on. Additionally... just because a certain receiver is the "WR 1" doesn't mean he is always the first read.

Will the coaches sometimes say, hey look for X to be open on this play? Yea sure, but thats based on what they are seeing from the D in game. And it does NOT mean they are telling the QB to throw it to the receiver no matter what.

That's a more reasonable statement than to say Les started calling the plays specifically for Landry. And I don't have any inside info, but I agree that there was a general change in who they wanted to try and get the ball to.

Making it a general point to get the ball into a certain WRs hands can be done a multitude of ways. I just meant to clarify that at the college level you don't call pass plays by saying "run the throw to OBJ play" (with a few exceptions like Hail Mary's where the receiver who is SUPPOSED to make the reception is designated.)
