I haven't been the biggest Les fan on here due to all this talent here and the average results in the SEC over the past couple years. One thing about Lester Miles he keeps getting top notch recruits. What do you think attracts recruits so much to LSU? Do they like his cool nature unlike Saban/Macavain(Florida's new coach) on the sideline or the fact that he has been here so long and he puts talent into NFL? I am hoping for a Natty this year so

They like him and love the other coaches he has on the staff generally.

He is like everyone's favorite uncle who comes over for supper and tells stories of the good old days.

Losing Frank Wilson hurt but this staff now is top notch with a good mix of young and old coaches. I hope these changes give us some new excitement and a national championship.

Les needs to change the trend that he needs a top five recruiting class to have a shot at finishing 10-3 and in the middle of the pack in the SEC West.

While it may not--and lately DOES not--translate into playoffs and national championships, LSU is an NFL factory.

We get elite wide receivers coming here because they believe they can be the next OBJ or Jarvis Landry, making millions in the NFL. Same with DBs and Patrick Peterson.

It can be argued how much of their potential they reach in college, or whether we are recruiting too many "skill" people and not enough linemen/linebackers, but these elite players see LSU as a sure route to the NFL.

And that's great. Kudos to Les for creating that atmosphere.

It would be nice if all this elite talent got LSU a little more than 10-3, including a minor bowl, which has been the trend the last five years.

Seems to be a genuinely good person, likeable, and a father figure. Parents of recruits probably respond very favorably to this and send their kids away to play under him.

He's a great recruiter. Which I hate to tell all the Les haters it's 80% of college football. Saban is obviously the best coach but he's also the best recruiter. 5 strait no.1 classes. If he were coaching ULM players he wouldn't win natl.titles. In the pros it's different, everyone is good. In college Alabama has better player than everyone else. Now that being said, Miles puts pressure on himself by bringing in such great players. He's not the greatest in game coach but shite, it's not easy to win in the sec west. But since 90% of TD knows more about football than everyone else I'm surprised a school haven't offered someone from here a 3,000,000 a year job at an sec school. Anyway, he better win a lot this year.

Likable character. Two finalists. Team often has the most Nfl players. Played in big time program for legendary coach and actually started some games a season when Mich win big ten and rose bowl. A+ person. Team has national profile. wears the ring. The teams are so good/close that kids see themselves as the guy who puts them into the playoff.

Blue stuff you haven't noticed Espn singing sabins praises through the years and down grading LSU , you haven't noticed that bama has its own referees ! Maybe that has a lot to do with bama recruiting !If you are hung up on his xes and Os ,He bailed out on Miami dolphins because they were looking for his placement !

Shouldn't an "NFL Factory" produce playoffs and title?

The momma's like him bro- period

To really understand what Les is able to do here check out ESPN classic right now. A Curley game from 1993. Look like a high school team size wise, it's shocking.

NFLU. He gets them to the league. It's pretty simple.

Job Stability? There is a faction of people that want to run the guy out of town every three years for christ's sakes. He almost got fired last year.

It's his demeanor + Success

Excellent false dichotomy.

Les is partially responsible, but when a player chooses LSU, they know going in the deep well of collective wisdom, advice, and constructive criticism offered by the Rant is suddenly theirs.
