You can't tell me he doesn't make extremely stupid moves once in a while. Nonetheless, I have always supported Miles and have never stopped. Just stating the reason I believe most nega-tigers are chilling out lately.

What hyperbolic dreck. It's posts like this that separate rational human beings capable of assessing Miles strengths and weaknesses from sycophantic dogs who are solely interested in analingus.

I don't know if I can put it any more nuetrally than this: the purpose of LSU's football program is to win the SEC. In any given year, winning the NC may depend upon factors outside of LSU's control (see Auburn 2004), but we always control our ability to win the SEC. Miles has won a single SEC title in six years. That isn't a rate if success that is satisfactory to me. If you are satisfied winning one SEC title every six years on average, you have very different - and much lower - standards of excellence than I do. All of the great coaches in the SEC (Bryant, Spurrier, Saban, Meyers, etc.) won MULTIPLE SEC titles. When Miles does the same, I'll give him credit. Until then, I'll exercise reason and reserve judgment.

Every coach does. That doesn't make them retarded.

This.312 pwns the thread. Nothing has changed except we are stuck with miles and must accept him. In the end, I'm still a hard core Tiger fan.

we live in a myopic, local, theatrical world...there are very few people who can see big picture anymore. In addition, many see him righting the ways that caused the 08-10 downside, so they are seeing reasons to believe.

Yes, every coach does. One could argue that our coach's bad decisions tend to be a little bit greater in magnitude and frequency is all I'm saying. Regardless, like I already said, he is our coach and I fully support him and always have. Not sure how I ruffled your feathers so much but sorry if you took my original post the wrong way.

The simple fact is there are people who call themselves "tiger fans" who will never accept Miles as head coach. It doesn't matter what happens from here on, with the first mistake or sign of adversity they will be on here bitching about what a buffoon he is. The bar is always going to be moving with these people.

If he wins the SEC next year but loses the NC game, Miles will still be a dumbass in their eyes.
That's a fact.

The truth, however, is that Miles remains the same exact coach who botched Ole Miss 2009, Tennessee 2010, and Arkansas 2010. His teams are still inconsistent and play down to their competition far too often. We haven't won the West in three years. The fact that MIles was wooed by UM doesn't actually change his flaws or strengths.

The same sort of thing is said about Stoops, Brown and Tressel by their programs, "fans". You're dealing with teenagers and young men who are dealing with all the distractions and issues of everyday school life. All coaches have flaws, not just whoever happens to be in BR. All coaches have game management issues from time to time, not just Miles. Is it disappointing and frustrating when it happens to your team, especially in a loss? Hell yeah. But don't fool yourselves into believing that every other major program doesn't have similar issues. Nick Saban let far superior teams lose to UAB and La Monroe. He displayed unbelievably poor game management in losses to Ark., Iowa and MSU. He blew a 24 point lead at home to Auburn. Yet he is still revered(and rightly so) as one of the premiere head coaches in America. Stoops, Brown and Meyer have all had similar struggles. Les has his moments but the bottom line is: he's as much a winner as any of the so-called elite coaches.

I don't think some of you understand the thought process of a "negatiger." On top of being incredibly smart individuals, we tend to see the big picture, or body of work, if you will.

The fact that we went 11-2 is fantastic. How we went 11-2 is what a "negatiger" would be concerned with. We are realists, and understand that this team very easily could have been 8-5.

It all boils down to the process/results. Posi's see results. Nega's see the process.

My biggest thing against Miles was LSU being a stepping stone for him (like Saban). IMO he has put that to rest and LSU can move ahead with a coach that will be here for a long time. Now he needs to win a SEC championship, not to prove himself, just to get a raise and make others who might want to hire him think twice.

I think Miles truly cares for LSU and trust his future hires.

Lol.Analingus ? WTF?

Face it, you DO have a sense of entitlement. Within your post there is no mention of the hyper-competitiveness of the SEC, Florida/Alabama/Auburn, the difficulty of the SEC, our QB difficulties, the specifics of schedules for various teams, our LUCK in being able to go 5-3 in 01 and win an SEC title, etc.

This isn't your Grandpa's SEC. NOBODY can dominate. It's not possible. With LES at the helm we will be in the mix, and when things bounce the right way, we will win crowns. But it's not going to happen on your infantile-like demand schedule.

It's guys like you who poison the well. And quit talking about gay sex. It makes the board uncomfortable.

TRUTH. Most of the rantards have a very short memory and a very strong want to love the coach of their favorite team.

Miles hasn't changed, and at his age isn't likely to. Anyone expecting anything different is just crazy. I am prepared for and resigned to several more years of the same ... a frustrating dichotomy of great recruiting and great effort paired with an alarming lack of preparation and attention to detail on gameday that will manifest itself several times a season.

That said, I am hopeful that a new OC will be able to make a significant difference on the team moving forward, and I will refrain from any overly negative criticism until something happens that would warrant it. I am optimistic that this new hire could just be the tonic that we need to return to Atlanta.

Maybe because you used called Miles retarded?
"Sometimes he can be a fricking retard."

You get your panties in a wad when I turn it around on you, but you feel perfectly comfortable calling him retarded?

Typical.
