Quote by Miles after the game:

quote:

"Miles, though did not fully support starting sophomore quarterback Anthony Jennings, who completed 7 of 14 passes for 151 yards with a touchdown. There was some indecision that we'd like to have back. This will be a very competitive spring. Out of spring, I'd like to pick another starter. It could be Anthony. It could be Brandon."

Is Miles wanting Harris to play, but Cameron is to stubborn let him get on the field and is overriding CLM?

It is hard to believe that Harris would be a downgrade to Jennings who completed less than 50% of his passes on the season and has a bad tendency to hesitate rather than throw the ball downfield.

Miles gets most of the blame for not playing Harris. I am not so sure the blame should be placed on his shoulders.

I mean, you can never say never. But, if I was forced to bet my paycheck on who the stubborn one was..........

Cameron needs to produce in 2015 or else hit the bricks. Not worth 1.3M

Cameron was fired by Harbaugh at Baltimore because he he wouldn't utilize Rice more than he did.

It's very simple what happen was this season Miles picked Jennings.... Jennings looked like trash Harris came in and looked like a monster fans are says why??? So miles pulls harris at the first chance he gets and never let's him play again because if harris does continue to play well miles looks like the biggest fool in CFB... harris will start next year and he will be credited for developing harris...

I truly believe, and it's a gut thing with no substantion, is that it is Cameron's recommendation that keeps Jennings on the field. Cam's opinion is the deciding factor.

Not apologizing for Miles, he can override him. But if the guy calling the plays wants a particular QB, you kinda have to go with that.

And alot of it is Cam's perfectionist tendency. It's not about reads and throws. It's about signals, mesh points, and basically running the same play as everybody else. One mistake on those fundamentals worse than 100 bad reads or throws to Cam.

The stubborn one in the Welter situation was Chavis. Who knows? But if true, Les gives allows a mighty long leash on his OC and qb. I can't believe that. I have to believe Harris got in some serious trouble. He just got straight up benched without even an ounce of inclusion in the offense. I'm guessing he did not take that benching well and it affected the way he practiced and prepared.

The fact that idiots on the rant, after 10 years, cannot recognize the fact that Miles will be happy to take the blame for everything, is beyond me.

Of course we will never know the answer. Of course Miles will make it appear as though it is his "fault". He's the HC. That's what he does.

Miles pretty emphatically endorsed Jennings late in the season. Said he made the 10 other players better. While I don't doubt Harris can step up and take the job in the future, based on some of Les' comments, it's pretty clear that he didn't think Harris was ready yet.

This is just another way of saying the opportunity did not present itself.

I honestly have never seen a QB at any level HS, college, or pros who continues to start with less than 50% completions. To be competitive, you need at least 60-65%. To be really good, you need 65-75%.

IF, and it's a big if, we find out that LSU applied for a medical redshirt for Harris (ankle injury in AU game) then we have a big part of our answer. I do find it hard to believe they would go that route without Harris' agreement however.

Lots of assumptions, some quite debatable in the OP and thread.
Is it possible that the person holding Harris back is Harris?
I think there are those here unwilling to deal with the prospect that we have no good choices and AJ is the best of what we've got.
Harris has a live arm.
AJ appears to have law ceiling.
This doesn't mean the coaches are making a bad decision, no matter how much one wants to persuade himself that we have a star QB on the bench.
