Is blitzing Milroe the best gameplan?

I've seen several posts regarding blitzing when Bama is on offense and I don't understand how that could be beneficial against a very sketchy passer.

Milroe throws a pretty good deep ball but is largely inaccurate everywhere else.

Does it not make more sense to keep everything in front and make the tackle, essentially a bend but don't break defense?

There's an argument to be made for making Milroe uncomfortable which forces him into mistakes, but is that the best gameplan for a defense that already struggles
mightily against the pass?

I think 2021 gameplan vs Gumps could work well against them.

Disguise blitzes and confuse the QB.

When your secondary is as bad as ours is, yes, you have to blitz and generate pressure.

Lots of blitzes is a horrible game plan.

This is going to sounds funny, but I'd take the Mizzou game plan and try to improve it.

Bama is a solid running game (shrader) with one deep threat (burden) and a decent QB. Dropping or blitzing Perkins will confuse Milroe eventually.

Brady Cook is a better passer than Milroe, but Milroe can run like Jayden but with size.

I think blitzing too much isnt the answer. When you have a QB like Milroe who is not accurate and prone to turnovers, you need to force them to have high play counts per drive. More plays per drive = more chances of a mistake.

If you blitz the middle and don't get him down, he is going to have 100 yds rushing.

I think so, but I 'm also ok dropping 7 or 8 every now and then and making him beat us(I know our secondary sucks).

We can't let the run game beat us.

In the few Alabama games I've watched, their right tackle seems to have a problem with speed rushers. I think Perkins might have a fun day out there.

Doesn't mean that blitzes need to happen constantly, just having four on the line with Perkins on the edge in obvious passing downs seem to make a lot of sense.

Blitzing Milroe is a great plain if you get him.
Blitzing Milroe is a bad plain if don't get him.

Saban won’t fall for that again and would love for us to game plan the same way again.

This isn’t close to being true, really just a silly statement.

Daniels 91 rushes for 521 yards
Milroe 77 rushes for 142 yards

He's not always great on his deep balls either. At least a few were underthrown to wide-open receivers when he breaks the pocket and guys come off coverage. Unfortunately, LSU's D has been susceptible to that.

No, but we can't get pressure rushing 4 lineman so that will give him time to pick our weak secondary apart.

I’d rather have Harold Perkins chasing down milroe instead of sitting back in coverage

With two weeks, we will see how well our coaches and Bama's coaches prepare their respective teams. After reviewing film, and individual plays, blitzing should be added based on the situation on the field.

And 35 of those 77 are sacks so he’s only run 42 times all season.
