Yeah, anyways.

Losing Cooper can hurt more than we think. It's a freaking tough position to play. Arguably the toughest on the field. He was one hell of a coach. I just don't think some of the LSU fan base can grasp how good of a cover corner Claiborne was. He made it easier for our other guys because he was a shutdown corner. We don't have one of that caliber on our squad this year.

Yes we do, his name is Tharold Simon. Just because you haven seen him as a number 1 CB doesn't mean he isn't talented enough to to what Mo did.

Our starting four in TM7, Reid, Loston, and Simon

I would replace Loston who is a hitter but weak on coverage with Martin, a great cover corner. I might move TM7 to FS his natural position and move Reid to SS.

Jalen collins has looked promising and looks to step up into the Simon role as Simon steps into the Claiborne role. It's an ongoing cycle here at DBU

why would DBU be concerned about or secondary. No matter which way u spin it we will have 2 preseason all americans in the secondary. I had more concern going into last year about the secondary then this year.

Here is my concern...

in 2010 Pat Peterson was the guy so teams tested Mo Claiborne. He was up to the challange.

in 2011 Mo Claiborne was the guy so teams picked on Tharold Simon. He was up to the challenge.

in 2012 if we keep TM7 in the monster position, Tharold Simon will be the guy so who will step up on the other side.

I agree with your post 100%. However, we have a shite ton of young talent and I like the Raymond hire. It hurts to lose Coop but I think he will be a suitable replacement. Once he and Chavis are on the same page, I think we'll be fine. The younger guys may take a little time but I think they'll step up

I'm not concerned at all. I like Simon and Mathieu, and I like Jalen Collins too.

We continue to reload. Someone will step up. If collins doesnt there are several other guys licking their chops for pt. New coach with 2 spots open in the backfield. Should be great competition.

Tyrann is an amazing football player. He, however, is not very tall. And no matter how hard he tries, or how good of position he is in, he will get beat by taller WR's when we face good QB's.

He is often times too aggressive as well, which might lead to his awesome turnover forcing ability, but it also leads to biting on cuts and getting burned.

It is absolutely moronic to say that anyone who knocks on Tyrann for anything is dumb. Are you saying he's a perfect DB? Can he shut down WR's as well as a bigger, taller guy like a Mo Caliborne or Tharold Simon?

ETA:

And for the record, you come off as an idiot when you spell "your", "ur" and "its" with a z.

Are you white trash, in 9th grade, or both?

Tyrann came in 4th in the Heisman as the "monster" DB. Do you really take him out of that position to put him one on one with a WR on an island. I think Chavis keeps him as the "monster" so he can blitz from anywhere on the field and cover the slot guys as opposed to the tall WRs on the outside.

If this is the case someone unproven needs to step up. Who that will be is yet to be seen.
