Is anyone legitimately concerned about our cornerbacks?

Losing Mo Claiborne, Ron Brooks, and Ron Cooper is definitely going to take a toll on our corners. For one, it's the toughest position to play. Especially when you are stranded alone on an island. It's true that a good defensive line (and rush ends) are corners best friend, which we have no problem there. That being said, I think it's possible we'll see a noticeable drop off at corner.

Yea turnover like this always creates a concern. I will say I feel better knowing our FS is a scholar and great on field Qb

Maybe a slight drop off, but nothing too too bad. I think Simon will step up.

Concerned? No. Legitimately concerned? Hell no.

I think Jalen Collins or David Jenkins needs to step up big time. I still don't have a lot of faith on Mathieu being locked up 1 on 1 with a taller lankier receiver.

Best corner back tm.His best position is nickel back. When LSU uses just 2 cb's his value is diminished.

The answer to this question is no. We have more than capable 'star' players in the secondary who are excited its their turn much like Mo after PP7 left.

Our starting four in TM7, Reid, Loston, and Simon will be as good as they come. Let me ask you this, can you name a better starting secondary?

Our only so called drop off may be in experience for the younger back-ups. But no I'm not concerned.

A little, but we have some talent there. I think the D-line pressure will take alot of pressure off the D-backs, this year. So, while they may take some time to gel, I think opposing teams will not have much success against the LSU Defense.

Jalen collins has looked promising and looks to step up into the Simon role as Simon steps into the Claiborne role. It's an ongoing cycle here at DBU

I suppose I have a concern that the CB play will not be quite what we have seen in the PP/Mo Claiborne era? Well, I guess so. But I have a hard time saying that I am "concerned" about corner play either in terms of our CB's compared to other teams as I think we will still have one of the best secondaries in all of college football. Put it this way: I see no reason why CB play will prevent this team from repeating as SEC champs or playing for/winning a BCS title.

Better question is what passing attack that we will face all year makes you think the secondary won't hold up? Tyler Wilson maybe? He lost a lot of weapons but would still probably be the stiffest test.

According to practice reports, the secondary is the LEAST of our worries.

I'm not concerned with the CBs at all. Simon is another top 10 pick, tM7 is the best defensive playmaker in the country, Collins by all accounts is an athletic freak, and Jenkins has great cover skills. Also look for Dwayne Thomas to get some snaps and Micah Eugene in the TM7 role.

Well a pretty mediocre passing attack was able to expose LSU in the NC game.

We aren't invinceable.

I'm worried, yes.

I'm interested to see how our secondary is next year.

I fear nothing with Simon and TM7 at the corners. We've got enough young DBs fighting to play in the nickel and dime packages so we're good.

Besides, as someone already mentioned, our front 7 is much improved. It's addition by subtraction at LB and even without Brock we're still gonna rotate 6-8 guys
