The Ole Miss this year was the next week after Arkansas and all the negativity just spilled over. This is simply bad scheduling.
Excuse #1001
The creativity some of you have to create excuse after excuse is more embarrassing than losing.
Whose political campaign do you run?
Just accept we lost to better teams.
Arky gets better throughout every year under fatso. Every year. They'll lose early and they'll be headed in the right direction. How the LSU coaches and fans don't realize this is beyond comprehension. Will one more arse kicking at the hands of the pigs wake these coaches/players up?
LSU is opposite. The month of November is a nightmare for LSU.
Freeze is turning out to be a better coach than Miles with a rebuilding job on his hands.
Miles has been at LSU 11 seasons!! Not 3. fricking 11! He hasn't had to rebuild shite since he got here.
In short, the programs around LSU are getting better on the recruiting trail and coaching. LSU better wake up and do something to fix it, 3-4 losses will eventually turn into 5-6 losses.

Where in the frick are people getting that Saban is the reason that people want Miles fired? Out of the many reasons that I felt it was time to move on, Miles' inability to compete with the best coach in CFB history wasn't one of them.
Whether people agree or not, LSU has more resources to be successful on the field than every college in the country except for Ohio State. They're the only other team who has top 5 NFL talent and no other Power 5 conference school in their state to recruit against. On top of that, we have awesome facilities, one of the best stadiums in the country, the 4th highest profit and income, a huge and respected national brand, the list goes on. Look at Ohio State, look at us.
Our resources are being mismanaged. Yea, we don't suck, that's great and all but it doesn't change the fact that we're not nearly as successful as we should be given what LSU has

Its not just an "Alabama Problem".

sorry, it's not what you did the first 5 years you were here, it's the LAST 5 YEARS.
i'm a huge Miles supporter but my support is cracking because the results are not what they were. AND, they have been going down every year (ok, not this year) AND we get the shite kicked out of us by Bama every year AND we got butt stomped by both Arkansas and ole miss.
Miles USED TO compete for SEC west titles, SEC titles and National titles. now he doesn't.
it's his own fault for either getting complacent or hiring shitty assistant coaches and allowing the recruiting to be dictated by rating services instead of team need.
I don't care how you paint it, unless LSU begins to AT LEAST frickING COMPETE for titles again, Les Miles will be gone and HE SHOULD BE. sorry, results count. LSU is not Virginia Tech.

Miles issue isn't as much that he can't be Saban with consistency (although that doesn't help). It is that he can't beat Arkansas with consistency. How many times has Saban lost to Arkansas while he has been at Alabama?

That's right. Know your place, LSU fans. You root for a program that should accept and embrace its rightful spot in the SEC hierarchy as a team that routinely fades in November instead of competing for titles.

Hard to believe a coach could go from No. 2 in the country (with the nation's No. 1 recruiting class for 2016) to the brink of being unemployed in a matter of four weeks, but Miles did. It's also yet another reminder that the trajectory of this league changed forever when the late Mal Moore lured Saban back into the college game in 2007.
quote:
Really, though, who in the SEC has beaten Saban with any consistency? In his last 40 games against SEC competition, he's 35-5. And as one veteran coach in the SEC told me last week, if Saban coaches another 40 games in the SEC, he'll probably be 35-5 again.
Since 2008 Saban has lost 12 games:
2 each to Miles, Meyer and Freeze and one each to Stoops, Spurrier, Sumlin.
Note 4 of those 6 coaches has won a national championship.
Please let Saban and Alabama not be the reason why we mistreat the most successful coach in our school's history. And please ... Charlie McClendon won one SEC title while Miles has won 2 and also a National Championship. Miles if the GOAT football coach at LSU. He has brought honor to our school in more ways than one
There are plenty other reasons to mistreat him. Have you watched our Qb play the last 4 years? Have you watched the undisciplined play of the offense the last 4 years? It's about SEC championships and Miles ain't delivering. Hell he's the one who always says we play for championships at LSU. Why can't we hold him to his own high standards?

Wow, Nick Saban and Alabama really do live rent free in the heads of LSU fans and quite possibly the LSU players. Saban is not unbeatable. We've done it before

Although I think most people will say their primary displeasure originated from the two games following that one.
They will SAY that but their actions speak louder. For most people this shite storm was all about not being able to beat 'bama.

None of that is interesting. It's tiring now
I agree with this.
Also nothing lasts forever.
This Alabama and Saban thing is on top now but it won't last forever.
Nothing does.

The fans would have understood losing at Tuscaloosa this year but losing badly at home to Arkansas, losing badly to Ole Miss, and blowing Fournette's chances for a Heisman trophy were the straws that broke the camel's back this year. He showed that the game has passed him up and what worked before will not get him through the tougher part of the SEC schedule. He will have to " change his stripes" if he wants to keep his past level of accomplishment.

Not arguing, but even hall of fame coaches lose it at some point. Clearly Miles has lost a step in recent seasons, how many steps are you wanting to see him lose before going in another direction?

Gee, that's so comforting to LSU fans who want to be #1 not 4th in the West

Charlie Mac and Miles are the same. Great men, players guy, good recruiters, average game day coaches.....last but not least.....OWNED by Alabama!

No....This season Arkansas played Ole Miss the week before LSU... They had the "Bye" week before LSU game last year
Ole Miss had the Bye this season before playing LSU

The halftime adjustments were more embarrassing.
You mean the adjustment that had us throw on the first play of the second half resulting in a turn over deep in our own territory? Sorry but no adjustment will work if players don't execute. And where does a coach go after such a bad throw to open the second half? Plain and simple, the Tigers struggled against Bama and the two games after because Harris wasn't able to make even basic passing plays work (and at least as to the Bama game, they owned the Tigers in the trenches). Harris regressed instead of stepping up and being the hero. I like the kid and think he's got talent and will get better but he wasn't there yet this season.

If we lose playing our best, so be it
If we lose because our staff doesn't put the kids in situations to succeed & play well, that's unacceptable.

I am so sick of this point trying to be made. Are we every other team in the SEC? Why should we care if they can't beat Saban. We should care about our team beating Saban. Miles has played Saban more than any other coach is the SEC so of course logically he should have more wins, but when you look at it, his last win was 4 years ago! Should we concede to Alabama every year? Am I living in crazy land? Tell me why with as talented a roster and as highly paid the coaches are we can't beat Bama once in the last 5 tries?
You are not winning the West unless you can beat those assholes. You can't keep hoping and praying that some other team will slip them up. Any fool that wants to concede to Bama, is a fool who wants to never win the division or conference as long as Saban is here.
Should we be TAMU, load up on talent, pay the coaches out the arse and go 8-10 wins and just be happy???
