The perception is that Dupre will be in the slot with Chark on the outside on 3 receiver sets. But after watching Chark in the gauntlet, I'm not sure he's quite ready for prime time. At this point I expect Quinn to be first in the slot.

They are going to be doing two different types of things. Quinn will have more receptions, but they will likely be equal in yards. Since Quinn is in the slot, he'll get a lot more catches. Since Chark is a deep threat, he'll chew up more yardage on a deep ball.

Ex. 2011

Randle 917 yards
Beckham 475 yards

Randle 53 receptions
Beckham 41 receptions

Randle had 442 more yards but only 12 more recep than Beckham.

So let's use that ex again with more reasonable stats, but similar yards per reception with Chark and Quinn.

Quinn 348 yards
Chark 312 yards

Quinn 30 receptions
Chark 18 receptions

When you look at numbers like this, you can usually tell what type of receiver a guy is.

Same thing occurred with Beckham and Landry the next year. Landry had 13 more receptions than Beckham, but Beckham had 140 more yards.

IMO, they'll have similar numbers in the raw data category (yards) but they'll have vastly different yard per reception rates.

those WR's were pretty terrible outside of the top 2.

How moronic is that? Wright is STILL in an NFL roster getting lots of good pub by Cincy. K Boone had a great look deep into the pre-season.

shite DIarse didnt make a catch in 5 of the 13 games.

Dupre had 5 catches in the last 10 games.

Wright got cut then put on IR. Boone was decent as a JR but neither guy was good enough to get more than a few looks. Our talent at WR right now is much deeper.

How on earth does this happen? Seems like they would all get their eyes checked
Easy. If you have good hand-eye coordination, you can get used to it. You run your route, pick up the ball (blurry), and when it gets sharp you catch it.
Quinn was a good athlete, and probably got used to doing that. Probably really helped his hands. But at the next level, with a different spin on the pass, it got exposed. I bet he makes catches look a lot easier now, since he's picking the ball up earlier.

Dwayne Bowe 2.0?

More like, plays with a Jacob Hester motor. Hard working kid. Never gives up on a play. Great white hope.

Kidding aside, I hope he becomes the SEC's most dominant middle field guy.

Quinn was ahead of diarse for much of the season

Dupre had 5 catches in the last 10 games.

That's pathetic and says a lot about the QB more than anything.

you seem upset that Quinn has been passed up. I guess we'll see. In practice three receiver sets today have been dural dupre and diarse.

That's why it's a meaningless stat....

You can't say that about one receiver while saying the other receiver got passed up for having the same stat. Quinn may have gotten passed up but your stat doesn't prove that in the slightest

I wouldn't quite say Quinn is our deep threat.
Dupre, Chark, and Dural are all better at that. Quinn is our Jarvis Landryesque type possession receiver.

Diarse disappeared for 10 games. Played good in the first and last games, otherwise forgot he was even on the team
