Hearing that Drake Davis will be a starter in 3 wide receiver sets before end of year and future first round pick.

He's good but not gonna pass Dupre and Dural day 1. The important thing is we have depth

Drake is great and will get PT this year. I don't see him starting in 3 WO sets until next year. We will lose Chi and Dupre after next season and Davis will get plenty of PT.

He never said he would pass up those two. Our 3rd WR right now is Tyron Johnson. That's who he would have passed up.

He can be a starter without passing Dupre and Dural up

Actually it sounded like Jazz Ferguson moved ahead of Tyron Johnson during spring. Dural was out due to injury and it was Jazz running with the 1s as the 3rd WR. And didn't sound like Tyron Johnson had a good spring or made a move up the depth chart.

And regardless, that's actually our WR4 spot. Dupre, Dural, and Chark are our top 3 WRs. And then you have Jazz and Tyron battling over the WR4 spot.

Edit: We are loaded at WR.

Ferguson didn't have a single catch last year and Chark had 1. Granted Tyron only had 9 but he is our 3rd leading receiver coming back next year not counting Fournette.

That sounds like a Clint Eastwood movie.

And josh downs was in the DT rotation as a FR in 2009 while Michael brockers redshirted

Johnson is behind Chark and Ferguson at this point in the summer

Bc Johnson was more prepared as a freshman means nothing going into their second years

Did you not say Johnson was third leading returning receiver and Ferguson didn't have a single catch?
I provided an example in downs and brockers where being ready earlier doesn't have to mean you will be better

They can but don't always. There are a ton of examples where players are passed.

And by the way I'm not saying Johnson shouldn't be the third receiver, I'm not at every practice.
I am just telling you he is in fact not the third receiver right now. Decided by the coaches who are are at every practice

The pecking order is currently:
1a dural
1b dupre
3 Chark
4 Ferguson
5 Johnson

We'll see what happens in fall practice

The coaches will have to see him in live scrimmages in fall practice. He won't walk out against Wisconsin as the #3, but lots of guys will get pt throughout the early season in that spot and by midsession they will see who makes the plays with the lights on

Chark will get first crack followed by Ferguson/Johnson. Anderson, Sullivan, Davis, and even Dillon will all get their shot
