He just went from preseason top 3 to the chic fil a bowl and barely beat the worst auburn team in over a decade and 2 other vastly inferior teams in ole miss and arkansas. Yea we probably should have lost to all 3
Please don't try to make sense on here. The Smoochers and Pumpers get their feelings hurt very easily.

Fourth place in the SEC baby. A salary increase, a contract extension and the Chicken Bowl!

I haven't been this disappointed since the last time LSU was paired against Clemson, at the end of the '96 season. It appeared LSU was headed to a New Yr's Day Bowl until Tenn. choked in mid-Nov. vs Memphis. Instead of UT taking an at- large spot in 1 of the 4 major bowls, the Vols landed in the Citrus Bowl & SECCG loser Bama went to Tampa. W/o a tie-in yet to the Cotton or Gator Bowls, dropped into the Peach Bowl vs an unranked Clemson team.
Despite a sloppy offensive performance, LSU still won. However, I still wished LSU would've played on Jan. 1st when that still was an notable accomplishment.

There are 6 teams from the SEC in the top ten you tool box. LSU's only losses came from the two SEC teams at the top of that list.

That is what he/they get paid $M to do is it not?

i think we're all kind of underwhelmed right now, but, come new year's eve there won't be a tiger fan out there who won't be ready to watch the final game of the season and hope we win big.

majority of the ppl on this site live for LSU football. a season like this flies by because it's almost unenjoyable to a point(offense pussyfooting around till bama game, ugly wins over auburn, towson, defense collapsing end of the yr, coaching brainfarts, etc.) but next thing you know it's the offseason and people are posting HYPE VIDEOS!!!1 and guessing depth charts and asking chicken to put up the countdown clock for tcu.

here's to a 2008 like performance in this game. i'm not thrilled RIGHT NOW but come NYE i'll be ready to send the 2012 season and year out in style and i think most other LSU fans will as well.

Guys,

You can call me all the names you want about this opinion, but I have no problem with the bowl selection process...the only thing with which I have a problem is the one play call that our supposedly madhatter coach didn't make. With about a minute and half left in the Bama game, Bama out of time-outs and with a 3rd and eight our coach chose not to attempt to make the first down that would have secured victory. One can argue that you put that in the hands of the defense, but the ball was in our possession and with a QB that had already converted a number of 3 down plays. Maybe we make it, maybe we don't, but I believe you have to try. One thing you can almost bank on was that we weren't going to run for an 8 yard first down on that defense with 11 guys in the box...our coach thought we could.

Execution by the players on any given play may or may not happen, but not making the right call at such a critical time to put them in the position to allow them to execute is, in my opinion, inexcusable.

Again, maybe the team makes the first down and maybe they don't...but, one thing is for certain, they make it and we take a knee, game over and a shot at the BCS NC is in site with a BCS bowl a distinct possibility.

I was relieved we won the last three games bc I myself had little interest after losing to Bama. Glad the players did not feel like I did.

I wasn't that jazzed about playing aTm two years ago either. Just not an exotic enough matchup for me.

Nor was I stoked about GaTech in 2008, but that bowl was all we deserved. I just had no interest in seeing GaTech.

But this Clemson matchup--yuck. I'll watch if I'm home and not doing anything else but I'm not exactly counting down the days.

We have experienced some tough injury's this season early, so I am happy with 10 &2 but I can't agree with some of u about Mett. As an Lsu fan I hope he continues to improve but has not gotten there yet. He waits to long to decide to throw the ball & takes a lot of unnecessary sacks. He needs to learn to throw the ball away if the receiver is not open within about 4 seconds. I also think we got fricked in the bowl selection! Northern Il. in a BCS bowl? PLEASE I also agree with the above ranter!
