I always hate like hell to see my Tigers lose, especially like that. I have to say however, the sting only lasted a few hours this time.

Sure.

Alleva could have pressed the issue and called for a further investigation of why the clock started when it did in relation to the ref's signal.
Instead, by firing Les, not only does he not stand up to the sec for the team, everyone's focus is shifted away from the questionable officiating.

ETA:

Obviously the result wasn't going to be changed, but had the administration caused a fuss about it (like Okie State did just a few weeks ago), I think it would have inspired the team knowing that they have strong administrative support.
