i can live with one more season of Javi if the majority of our recruiting class makes it to campus

Great question. And certainly it bought him some.

It's been 5 years since with only 1 trip to Omaha in between. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect us to be one of the top 8 teams every year. The exception should be when we don't go to Omaha. Now, it's too frequent that we don't.

This was his 8th season. We've been to Omaha 3X under him. I realize there can be crazy circumstances, but apart from that, if we don't make there both of the next two seasons it's time to R&R.

With that said, there are no excuses for us not being better than what we've shown the past two games.

Changes in the game with the bats and scholarships have really brought parity to the sport.
What about TOPS? Why are we not using it more?

Someone else brought it up in another thread...how many seasons has it been since an LSU baseball team only swept two SEC series?

Our bullpen past Fury and Bourgeois really let us down this weekend, but I think CPM changed the complexion of the game and ultimately the series last night when he pulled Bauman after six in the midst of a 2 hit shuitout with only 65 pitches thrown. Even the guys on TV were syaing that if a guy has a hot hand, you stay with him at this point in the season. CPM thought himself right out of a super regional with that move.

I am so sick of hearing about the bats. Every fricking team plays with the same bats. Yes it's boring but it's no reason we can't win ball games.

Smoke didn't make braindead decisions each game. Pitching, base running, subbing, and strategy (hit & run, bunt, etc) - PM covers the field in poor calls in each area waaaaay too damned often.

Then stood there like a kid wetting his pants for the rest of that game and all of the next. WTF was that shite all about? Did he have money on reaching a super?

How is a team supposed to rally when the coach looks like he's going to cry at the first signs of adversity?

if he continues to get top 8 seeds but doesn't have great success in the post season I think he stays here a long time.

to compare

if Les Miles made it to a BCS bowl game every season but lost every year do you think we would want him canned? (the rant would want him gone, but do you think he would actually be fired?)

Going by LSU Football standards I'd say at least 10

dude isn't getting fired anytime soon...but I'm not entirely sure he's still the coach here had he not hired Dunn.
