What game are u coming for....

not much there hotel wise, might have to go to a neighboring town, they don't know much about tailgaiting and have some fricked open container rules around the campus, do some homework!!!

Just stay by the interstate. Gainesville will disappoint you as a town.

Just follow the law and be courteous. Gainesville police suck balls

I would recommend not going. It's a terrible trip.

Everything he said what the other guy said about being disappointed in Gainesville as a town.
Went twice and will not go back ever. Just not a great college football experience.
Auburn, a&m, BAMA are all better experiences.

This right here. Gainesville is awful. If you have to go, try to find a place close to I-75, like a previous poster suggested.

Going with a group of friends staying at econo lodge. It's not the best hotel by any means but it's only one mile from the stadium. We just needed a place to go to sleep. Wasn't expensive either.

I went once and will never return. Ever!

I vowed not to go again about 10 years ago after numerous LSU games there. I haven't been back since then.

Can't help you with hotels, but take the shuttle bus in the Oak Mall parking lot next to I-75. It's a straight shot to campus. My wife and I glad we did 2 years ago after having a hard time trying to find parking. Gainesville is a pretty safe town with low crime rate and tons of trees. Just prepare for the long line to get on the numerous number of buses going back to the mall.

Dude go find a girl and get laid. Don't need a hotel. Plenty of arse over there. Deal with the hotel situation when you get there.

Last time I went we stayed in Lake City off of I-75. Was only about a 45 minute drive to campus.

Probably too late to get a hotel in Gainesville. Ocala and lake city are the next closest towns

I have stayed in Ocala but I live in south Florida so it's a good jump start. It's about 40 miles but you can get a cheap room off I-75. Gainesville and the swamp can eat a giant bag of dicks

Late to the game here, but I'll opine.
There are a bunch of hotels right off I-75 on archer road. Don't know if they'll have vacancies at this point but you can still try. I've stayed in a few of them; they've been nice and staff has been great. There's quite a few places to eat/drink almost within walking distance. Getting to campus from there is easy, just east down archer for 2-3 miles and you're at the south end of campus. Can turn onto 34th and head up to university/newbery road, which will take you right in front of the stadium. There's usually a ton of parking in the neighborhood north of the stadium (in people's yards, and you'll have to pay). Or you can stay east on archer to 13th and head up to university, right on the edge of campus.
On University, just east of campus is the downtown area. There's a bunch of good places to eat and hang out. Really good BBQ and pizza places (though the best BBQ I've ever had was in a place near those hotels off 75).
If you're coming from Louisiana it's a long arse drive. If you're flying, don't fly into Gainesville unless you have disposable income you're willing to burn. Fly into JAX, MCO, or TPA (all a 2 hour drive or less). You can also look at staying in Ocala (30 miles south) or lake city.
*i'm just moved to Gainesville, So I don't know much about the place except above. I've come twice for games (1 win and 1 loss), and both were bad experiences.

My favorite road trip. Drink in the bars right next to the stadium and walk right in to the game Unique and great fun.
Parking is easy all around campus.
