But I don't want to back into the BCS if we win out and Auburn is forced to forfeit.

We really need to beat Ole Miss and Arkansas and just hope we can get to a BCS bowl. Arkansas is our biggest threat.

How the hell do you back into the BCS? If you are 11-1 you will play in a BCS bowl. FACT.

Now if you mean back into the SEC championship game then I understand.

It would definitely be hollow, LSU had their chances in Auburn game and lost on the field whether Cam was eligible or not.

I still think they could elevate other one loss teams over LSU anyway even though no one can touch LSU schedule.

Auburn if punished will hurt the SEC more than anything, the backlash from the media will be a detriment to all SEC teams even the ones doing things the right way.

Im not sure how winning out makes it a "back-in" to the BCSNCG

If LSU wins out and the ranking put them at one or two then they deserve to be there.

This would be less of a back-in than 2007.

Newton is ineligible and is Auburn's whole team. Auburn would be 7-5 without him.

Yeah that'd suck. I hate playing for championships unless I felt we truly earned it and nobody else deserved it. Plus, it was so cold last time we had a celebration and I don't wanna do that again. I'd much rather a bowl game nobody will remember. Hopefully nobody ahead of us loses so we won't have to worry about it. #5 is much better than #1 anyway.

With talk like this, you would think that LSU had lost 2 games. This team is 11-1 with one of the toughest schedules in the country and with its only loss to an undefeated SEC team that is currently under investigation for cheating. Assuming that LSU wins out and somehow ends up in the BCSCG, how in the world would that be "backing in?"

How is it backing in if Auburn played an ineligible player(s)? If they won while breaking the rules, then the hollow feeling should be by the Aubs.

I agree with this, however:

Exactly.

Why would you hold LSU to a different standard than everyone else?

LSU would be deserving.

If the regular season is over, they will probably do it the way they did the USC deal. Auburn will forfeit those games, but the games are just "vacated" as they called it and the opposing team in the game does not get the win.

If your school got the #1 recruit from MS, LA, AK, and FL all in one year...by paying for them, then yeah it is considered cheating..they basically fielded a team of "professional athletes."

Thanks for making it plain for these idiots! We ran a clean program and most of all won with the world against us! We deserve this. As for the Aubies, I feel like the Russian in Rock Ivan "I he dies he dies"!!! We can not be beat!!!!!!

I'm not criticizing your view or questioning your support for LSU, but I really cannot understand this kind of thinking.

I don't really see how it's backing in. Why should Oregon, Boise State and TCU and their god awful schedules get a pass and be considered more "legitimate" National Title contenders than us? All 3 of teams would lose to Auburn at home much less at Auburn if they played them in the regular season.

We played one of the hardest schedules in the nation, with our only loss being to the eventual Heisman winner (had these accusations not come out) and #1 team in the nation, at their place, by 1 touchdown. I just don't see how those other teams "deserve" it more.

You realize that we haven't beaten Ole Miss or Arky yet. I will be shocked if we lose to Ole Miss...but not necessarily shocked if we lose to Arky.

who cares if we back in... if we back in its because Auburn cheated, so there would be no backing in.

This makes no sense.

You want to give back the UNC win? They played without 8 starters because of improprieties.

You want to give back the Tennessee win? They broke the rules, but time ran out. Why play by the rules.

Rules are in place for a reason. There is no backing into a championship. If we go 11-1 (big IF, Arkansas will be tough), then we will have earned it IF Auburn has to forfeit or vacate games. Our only loss would be AT Auburn, the team vacating wins. Without Cam, they would be the same team they were last year - the team we beat 31-10. And, we are better than we were last year.

This kind of talk needs to stop. It just isn't accurate.
