My wife's work scheduled her inventory for the night of Jan 9th. Bunch of idiots. I have decided to DVR the game, shut off all my communication devices, and watch the game with her on the morning of Jan 10 to score major bonus points. She has a hatred for Bama the likes of which I have never seen, so this should garner me major bonus points.

Plus it will be nice to not have to sit through commercial breaks.

I'm preparing for the hardship now. I'm reading a lot of zen teachings to help me pass the time.

I may just masturbate the whole time she's at work to keep my mind off it.

If you can keep from watching it while she is working, you have a helluva lot more self control than I. No way would I miss it if there was a chance I could watch it. No way. I bet you fold....

I was in a similar situation for the first game. My gf planned a couples weekend at a farm in upstate NY. The place had no tv and no cell coverage. I was going to bite the bullet and go. At the 11 th hour I cancelled on her and watched the game. She was pissed and disappointed. However, she got over it.

If my boss scheduled something the night of the game, I would counter it by calling in sick. I'm sorry, but that's bullshite.

An alcohol induced coma would get you through the night and wash away the pain or hide the excitement. You just need a plan.

Make sure you record about 3 hours of programming after the game. You don't want the recording to stop just as the 3rd overtime starts

I did this (VCR, not DVR) when I was overseas during the 2007 season. I think AFN carried all but four of our games that year.

It worked well to start the season, but as the games got more important I found myself waking up in the middle of the night, quickly calculating the time conversion and then thinking about what quarter the game would be in. Then I'd start worrying.

By the Auburn game I started cheating - waking up for the fourth quarter, then re-watching the games. Had to watch the tOSU game in real time. There's no way I'd have been able to sleep without severe medication.

It's do-able, but you'll likley be miserable.

She got over nothing. You will pay, big time, in the future.

If she hates Bama that much, what makes you think SHE will wait till the next morning to find out the score...... just a thought.....

Is your wife's work in Louisiana? I find this very hard to believe. (not the part that you're a pussy, the part that the boss is this gay and/or stupid)
