So basically you're saying we should be resigned to shitty offense and hoping to win on defense alone Which, if Les doesn't make a change, I agree with.

I don't see either one ever getting hired here.

But in my wildest dreams, Strong would be able to run the defense and defensive talent would still want to come here. He'd hire a true OC and QB coach.

So should Chavis get fired? Because when you get down to the brass tacks, we were winning both the Bama and Clemson games with 2 minutes left. How much of the D does Miles control?

And TSB4L throws him a split-finger on the outside edge!

So a top 10 program cant go out and get a top flight head coach?

I would say all but a few coaches would be beating our AD's door down if Les took a hike

Of course not. There's a difference between what fans want to happen and what is possible in the realm of reality.

well, against Clemson the D was on the field for 100 plays. Against Alabama we got beat when a freshman missed an assignment. If you can't see the difference between an effective unit that was worn out or made a mistake and a unit that has been ineffective COMPLETELY for five seasons in a row then maybe you should put an LSU game on for once.

Well we all know that's not happening unless Miles has back-to-back losing seasons in the near future. Or decides to retire before his contract is up. But I don't see that happening either.

I really don't get why he's so stubborn on the offense situation. After awhile you've got to get tired of hearing the same thing over and over about the offense.

Whats equally worse is that he is wearing our defensive talent down because they have to make up for the offense being well below average.

How have Notre Dames coaching hires gone the last 15 years?

How about UCLA's? Michigan's? Miami's?

Yes, but Les isn't taking a hike now is he? So .. try to stay focused on fixing things here in the real world.

Not to mention Mett's first season as a starter growing pains should have been expected. He still was a huge upgrade IMO.

Let me ax you somethin; do you think it might have helped if LESS put Mett in some of those blowouts last year??

Les called the 4 unnecessary trick plays against Bama right? The TO before half? The conservative offense while the D was killing Bama and Mett was throwing on them? Etc. Etc.

Execution by the coach.

I'd say all but four of five jobs in CFB that LSU couldn't grab another coach from.

He fired Crowton didn't he? What do you want the guy to do? Fire an OC every year until he finds the perfect fit?

Its just such a stupid argument. Chavis had a top 10 or so unit and has since he's been here. Les has had a shite offensive unit for 6 of his 8 years. Yeah the D "let us down" after being on the field for one hundred plays in a game and when a freshman missed his assignment in a crucial time.

Have to agree with this. No balls gave him an extension and LESS isn't going anywhere for a while. So let's pray for a really good and strong OC who can tell Miles "I got this".

He fired Crowton.

But did we really get a true OC out of the deal? No.

We have an Oline coach, who from what I can see is handicapped on his play calling.

Our offense is beyond predictable and vanilla. We have little to no wrinkles that keep elite defensive units second guessing.

I don't think there's a perfect fit for Les. We could have Brees, Peterson, Megatron, Gronkowski and a dynamite OL with Payton in the booth and we'd still be what we are

depends on if you're looking at points or yards. but I get what you're saying and agree. Chavis is solid. I don't worry about his D.
