But that song with the video pretty much ties in everything from tailgating, to life in Louisana and BR, LSU football and way of life for most LSU fans.

this song

quote:

I spent last night in the arms
Of a girl in Louisiana
And though I'm out on the highway
My thoughts are still with her
Such a strange combination of a woman and a child
Such a strange situation stoppin' every hundred miles
Callin' Baton Rouge

A replay of last night's events
Roll through my mind
Except a scene or two
Erased by sweet red wine
And I see a truck stop sign ahead
So I change lanes
I need a cup of coffee
And a couple dollars change
Callin' Baton Rouge

Operator won't you put me on through
I gotta' send my love down to Baton Rouge
Hurry up won't you put her on the line
I gotta' talk to the girl just one more time

Hello Samantha dear, I hope you're feelin' fine
And it won't be long until I'm with you all the time
But until then I'll spend my money up right down to my last dime
Callin' Baton Rouge

Operator won't you put me on through
I gotta' send my love down to Baton Rouge
Hurry up won't you put her on the line
I gotta' talk to the girl just one more time

Callin' Baton Rouge
Sweet Baton Rouge, my Baton Rouge

this sums up tailgating, life in LA and Baton rouge, LSU football and the ay of life for most LSU fans? have you ever read these lyrics?

take out the word baton rouge and the song is a song most people have never heard of

Jones, you aren't doing a very good job of reading and comprehending.
The key part to my post was the song and "VIDEO"
Maybe if I posted the YouTube clip ofit that make it easier for you to understand.

Geeeees.

As a life long LSU fan and a current freshman here, i do not want to see calling baton rouge leave. i love tradition at lsu and anytime i hear piped in music during the game i get sick. however im from louisiana does pump up the team, which as a result pumps up the students. and stop posting BS about students not getting loud that shite pisses me off..i have not been able to talk since the auburn game. Geaux MOFO tigers!!! :geauxtigers: :geauxtigers: :geauxtigers:

so about the song that this thread is about. a song that obviously gets the players pumped up. yet you want them to stop playing it because you think it sucks. good call

And I'm embarrassed to admit it when I sit in the stands by a bunch of idiotic whites spitting out racial slurs while they choose to spend hundreds of dollars to watch and cheer the very people they claim to hate play a football game. I've never seen so many ignorant rednecks as I did this past Sat.

Ruger, sorry that you experienced that. I don't see race, only Tigers. That song is really sad on so many levels.

I think someone noticed when LSU played at Georgia...When they played...French Montana "I aint worried bout nothin" and saw how the whole GA football squad and crowd was rocking,,,,they are trying to bring it to louisiana. You know, the team has a very "urban" makeup and this type of music will definitely hype them up...

They could play a doctor on cocaine giving an abortion with a coat hanger on the video screen. If it helps the team win NCs then I'm all for it.

It's a state university, there would be a football team without TAF. Might be a poor team but still a team. LSU football is first and foremost about the kids on the field and if they like the piped in music then we do it and shut the hell up about it.

& then swear like a sailor out of the other

not a single swear word is uttered over the speakers when this song is played.

"I'm from Louisiana" and "We call it the boot" are the only lyrics heard over the loud speakers.

They played the edited version genius. It's funny how some of you think they need to play a song for YOU. Let's see, shall we pump up the 30-40 something white guys in the crowd with some whole lotta love or pump up our players with their kind of music. Don't go to the game you bunch of women!!

Ruger & Choupique19...go take a minute & re-read my original post & then go punch yourself in the face for not possessing basic reading comprehension skills. Yes, I said that I didn't like the song, but the part you both quoted was my statement that LSU can't bitch that the students curse when TGBFTL plays Neck & then play a song, even the edited version, that encourages the students to scream out "BITCH, I'm from Louisiana!" It's not about the music they choose to play, it's about the stupidity of things that those in charge of the gameday experience choose to come down on & the things they choose to promote being one in the same.

It would be like playing the edited version of NWA Gangsta Gangsta over the PA & being furious at anyone who sang the lyrics:
'Cause, I'm the type of **** that's built to last
frick wit me, I'll put my foot in your arse
See I don't give a frick, 'cause I keep bailin'
Yo, what the frick are they yellin'?

Everyone around us was asking about this song. "What are they saying? Is this the whole song, or is it looped to repeat the same words over and over again? I think they are saying "peace out", no wait, bees out, yeah thats it.

Everyone concluded that it wasn't actually a real song (since actual music never played), just a looped recording of someone yelling "imma, imma bees out." This was the best we could do, and it was from every color and every age. We actually laughed that we were glad we only scored 17 so that we didn't have to listen to kickoff anymore.

Punch yourself in the mouth. This is what you said. It implies that LSU is swearing like a sailor, presumably over the loud speakers.

There are no curse words in the edit that has been played.
