On ratchet Southwest Airlines, with stale peanuts and a warm Sprite, but my flight reservations are booked for the weekend of September 3rd, followed by a three hour drive from Chicago to Green Bay on I-94!!!

Taking a look back, as we get a chance to reflect in the dead period that is late February, we've had some great road season openers to start the season in recent memory.

2005---at Arizona State (made the best of a bad situation)
2007---at Mississippi State (Thursday night game which set up a mini-bye for Va Tech)
2009---at Washington (Seattle was awesome)
2010---vs North Carolina at Atlanta
2011---vs Oregon at Arlington (my absolute favorite, 60k Tiger fans in JerryWorld)
2013---vs TCU at Arlington (anytime we play in Texas, it's just awesome)
2014---vs Wisconsin at Houston (LSU plays in Houston for first time in a long time, 50k Tiger fans in NRG, epic fourth quarter comeback trailing 24-7) [Thank you Kenny Hilliard]

And now in 2016, LSU will play a virtual road game in Green Bay's football version of Mecca, Lambeau Field. I simply cannot wait.

I have reserved my airfare and hotel, but I will wait to purchase tickets. Stubhub, Ticketcity, etc are simply trying to get suckers to buy $700 tickets that aren't even in a prime location. I'll continue to look, but I think I'll wait until Aug 15 before I pull the trigger. Ebay may be the answer, you may get a Tiger or Badger fan who can't make it and wants to just get back what they paid face value via their season ticket plan.

I flew into Midway the last time I went to Chicago. What a dump (airport and surrounding areas). It's worth spending a little more to fly O'Hare.

I've lived in Chicago for 20 years and have never gone through Midway.

Those born and raised in Chicago prefer Midway 9/10 times.

Using southwest points, staying in Madison, possibility of some sort of party bus to and from game.

I travel for work and I'm not a pussy.

Midway is not bad at all, easy to get in and out of, and even better than ORD, delays are unheard of in all but the worst of weather. The surrounding area however is terrible. Taking the CTA orange line into the city outside of rush hour can be a real treat.

Milwaukee is the way to go. Booked my Southwest flight for $320 round trip and we're staying at hotel downtown. Probably do a party bus or something Saturday of the game to Lambeau.

You made out. The best I could do as far as flying MSY to MKE was $220 one way.

I'm on Delta from Hobby to MKE (through) ATL for less than $300. But I bought it 2 months ago....

Thursday night in Milwaukee and Friday / Saturday in Appleton. I hope there are some bars there for all of us on Friday night.

Nobody, just getting it out there.

IMO
Newark worst airport in this country. Manila worst I've been through.

It's way to early buying that ticket. That ticket will be cheaper in June or July.

What's so bad about this airport? I'm thinking of flying to the Philippines later this year.

I'm flying into O'Hare on Tuesday. O'Hare has a "yoga studio." WTF?
