Would you hire Pendergast and let our DL coach go to make room for Orgeron? Or would you be loyal to your current DL coach and look elsewhere for a DC?

I would let Haley go if he wanted, but I wouldn't force him out. If he stays loyal to us when Chavis is definitely trying to get him to go, that means something I think.

Given that our DL sucked last year and sucked for a large part of this year, I'd start looking for a new Dl coach regardless of who the DC is.

Everyone on this board seems to notice everything Miles does. Why hasn't one person mentioned that 95 percent of people that have left Mikes staff has just found other jobs. Does anyone think that Chavis and Brick were both ASKED to test the market by Miles.

I would hire Pendergast and Orgeron and move Peveto into administration. Let Brick take the LB and O take DL. One of those 3 can handle Special teams as well, maybe brick as it typically uses a bunch of LB's.

So are you saying that something or someone else is the problem?

I would leave it up to the DC...typically that's the DC call to hire the staff he wants.

In this case though, Chavis put us in a BAD position because our DL coach has already signed his contract expecting Chavis to be back.

Now we have no DC, and a DL coach with a signed ocntract and a BUYOUT if you move him to LB.

No I'm saying I believe Mikes told Chavis and Brick to find other jobs that we were going in other directions. Brick is horrible and Chavis well is Chaving overrated big time when it counts the most.

Not realistic since Chavis and Brick were both offered contract extensions. Chavis wasn't happy with his, yes, but Miles tried and failed to get Alleva to modify it.

Doesn't mean anything it coukd have been a smoke screen to keep it hush hush. Assistants have no buyout so the extension really means absolutely nothing.

If I'm Miles I do the below:

Ask to lower my salary to $2mill/year and incentivize the rest.
Fire Peveto
Move Brick to LB coach
Hire CP and Orgeron
Wait for the rule to change in spring about staffing minimums
Hire the best ST coach I can find
Re-sign all coaches to new contracts with adjustments based on achievements if necessary.

They do if you move them to a different job, or they are fired.

If you are trying to push them to a different team, why even renew?
