Wow, I severely misjudged the number of fans that are willing to welcome Saban back with open arms. Very sad.

There is nothing wrong with our coach. If you don't want Les Miles to be our coach, you must want Nick Saban to come back because that is the only way our program would be able to improve.

This is stupid at so many levels, a new low here

If your goal is winning titles, why wouldn't anyone welcome him back. Who gives a shite if he's a prick.

But it's a stupid argument since Miles isn't leaving and Saban wouldn't come back if Miles did leave.

If you compare Miles to any other coach not named Saban or Urban Meyer he compares favorably. So yeah I think the OP's assertion has some merit.

you make some good points. i don't agree on all but some. if the greatest coach in college football history (or at least modern times)had not coached here before his dominant run and we didn't have didn't have to witness it within our own division, i don't there would be as many Miles bashers. He would still have some because of the seemingly mindless mistakes that happen from time to time, but most coaches have flaws.

Something that is based on 100% certainty either is correct or it is not. Do I think there is some merit to the statement "a segment of the fans will never be happy with Miles because he is not Saban?" Sure. But plenty of fans don't want Saban back. Whether they would actually turn him down if he tried (never gonna happen) is another story entirely.

Not all fans are unhappy with Miles because they compare him directly to Saban. Many fans judge Miles by general logic and his fortunate situation where he should win; his incompetence is not entirely covered up his decent recruiting and occasional good fortune that bails him out of his own mistakes.

Les is the coach right now and is doing a descent job but not meeting expectations...
This can be said without hysterics, and without wanting Nick Saban to come back to LSU. Except in the fevered minds of sunshine pumpers who see nothing amiss. Ever.

To name a few...

If CLM met expectations, LSU, not Alabama, would have won the 1/9 debacle.

If CLM met expectations, LSU would have beaten Alabama last season in BR.

If CLM met expectations, LSU would not have lost to Ole Miss this season, and the time management issues would have never surfaced (again).

If CLM met expectations, Mett would not be back to his more erratic 2012 form in these last 2 or 3 games, but would still be playing lights out QB like he did the first part of this season.

All this being said, I am sure CLM can correct future occurrances of this same kind of stuff if he wants to. I just don't expect him to have such a want, so I do expect these kinds of things to go on and on and on...

I would take Saban back in a heartbeat. I know he's a huge dick or whatever but that dude is one of the greatest coaches in the history of the game.

So you are saying your expectations are perfect seasons every single year.

I don't like the clock issues anymore than anyone else but to say he is not meeting expectations is stupid unless perfection is your expectation and if it is you are going to be disappointed a lot.

I don't even think Les Miles would choose Les Miles to coach at LSU if the Nick Saban was available.

This thread is dumb.

And I agree.

i saw bama players were paid $51,810,000 last year in signing with nfl teams.

i am 100% sure our players were paid about the same.
