Is Gilbert good enough to shut down OSU hitting? If we only throw Poche a few innings say 4 would we shut him down to get added rest for Saturday if we forced a second game.

No. Our best chance is Poche going CG tonight.

Yeah, our pen didn't look so hot Monday night.

We need Poche and Hess to lock up all 9 tonight.

If we play 3 games, we're definitely going to see him twice.

I mean, let's go along with the OP. LSU opens up a 9-1 lead by the end of 5. Who would we roll with if we tried to save Poche a little bit?

Johnny Wholestaff. Until it's 9-8 and then we better hope Jesus can throw a few.

I would still keep Poche until the 7th... if we're still up by that much, then I'd go with Bain or Peterson. Guys that are innings eaters but aren't that high on the bullpen depth chart.

Id prob consider throwing bain out there, he gives up a couple, then newman
Also an option would be peterson. Just somebody like that who will throw it over the plate. FSU scores runs because of walks

I'm with you. I just would be very hesitant to pull Poche early in that scenario. 7 innings sounds better.

I know it's just a one game sample, but all of those guys pitched Monday and "throwing strikes" would not be in my description.

What we would be saving poche for is an inning or two out of the pen on saturday, but then be expecting him to turnaround monday and start

Bain and newman usually find the plate. Obviously not monday. Id say 6 innings

I thought about that but figured if Poche helped us win on Saturday we could Wholestaff it for game 1 of the championship series and then try to win game 2 and 3 with Poche and Lange.

This is it.

Season is over with a loss. Just need to survive to play another game. The longer Poche can get into the game, the better.

At this point, you can't really think that far ahead anymore. There are potentially 3 games between today and Monday that are must-win.
