And say we keep SE, where will the goalposts be moved to for O? The biggest part of selling him as the coach was to "pair him with elite coordinators".

They'll keep finding excuses to keep him around. Same as they did with Miles.

LSU will go 6-6 and we'll still hear the same shite about nobody else being available.

Yes, that would be a disappointment, and there would be extra pressure on O. Will you need a safe space when that happens?

That's not happening but if it does Alleva once again lied and needs I be fired on the spot. Bring in a new AD and the Orgeron experiment may only go 1 year.

I keep hoping we are trying to get caught with our pants down so we just take Briles and say oh well what could we do?

Would Major Applewhite be considered a "big time OC" to you?

Would to me, and that would be a very good hire. I think ( no sources) that might have legs. Makes sense.

Honestly, I think that's the worst that we do. At least I hope.

He's spent two years under Herman. He's spent time under Saban. I think he'll recruit well here also. He's got a lot of ties to Texas and he's originally from Baton Rouge. I would be happy with it.

He was so much better as a college QB than Colt McCoy. I was astounded when Brown benched him and didn't give him back the job once the other guy proved he wasn't as good.

That situation still baffles me to this day. Was it Mack Brown playing favorites? Texas football politics? Or was it just going with the guy with perceived better NFL tools?

All I can say is Applewhite lit it up under center and that team was never the same after he lost his starting job.

I'm at the point where it just has to be someone better than Mile/Cameron. Our offense was so outdated anyone would have to be better right? It was better with a TE coach who hasn't been an OC for 20 years. Just get someone in here who has a clue.
