If they care so little about the well being of this program that they would force a no name good ol boy with a .500 conference record at North Texas on this university, then frick them. stay away.

This guy hasn't won anywhere.

If they hire Johnny they won't need the pmac. The fans won't show up and most of these alumni don't have any money to give anyway other than shaq. I could care less about an alumni game. I'm just as much an alum as those guys. I want the best coach and Johnny isn't that.

I'm actually starting to feel sorry for Alleva. Hopefully he stands strong and hires who HE thinks is best, if that's Jones, fine, but it has to be his choice.

If Alleva bucks the Jones hire and gets a guy like Dixon, how far will the BBQ gang go to sabotage it?

Alleva will ingratiate himself to the fanbase but how far can a coach go when everyone who can help the program is pissed because he isn't "their" coach?

A guy like Dixon? A lot farther than someone like Jones can go being "their" coach.

Where does tack minor stand on all of this? What about Landers Nolly?

I'd really like to get charlie thompson and omar seli-mance's take on the coaching search.

You don't get how a strong alumni presence can help a program?

we all remember collis practically taking credit for johnson's hire only to be the first to throw him into the fire when his gym key and courtside seats were revoked. dude craves the spotlight he got while sitting behind the bench in his raggedy baseball cap while 'his guys' were on the floor. dale brown is like 90 years old, fricked this program just as much if not more than he helped it so maybe just maybe a coach with no previous ties to the school might want just a little space to do his fricking job.

ZOMG JOE PLZ HIRE A LOUISIANA MAN!!!1

shite sounds worse than 'michigan man' who in the hell do these people think they are?

If the new coach wins, then the money that starts flowing into the program from the fans will speak a helluva lot louder than the opinons of past players. They will largely become irrelevant.

Has the "quick change" magician endorsed Jones yet? I mean guys, we really don't want to ruffle his feathers as well. Maybe we should listen.

because a 400 pound high school basketball coach at the shittiest school in lake charles has a huge impact on things like recruiting and fundraising.

He hasn't, but the Asian gal who flips bowls on her head while riding a unicycle is pretty adamant in her support for Gregg Marshall.
