Cartwright, Reynolds, Gilbert, Hess, Keil, Bain, Norman...

Yeah, really hurt.
So...Which one of these do you see as a quality reliever? Just because you have guys in the bullpen, doesn't mean you have a "Bullpen"

ETA: Kiel has gas, but isn't proven. Hess could probably push for a weekend spot. I hope I'm wrong, but everyone else is just plain mediocre at best

Do we have enough solid pitching depth past the first two starters to win it al?

Exactly. This has been our big time weakness the last few years preventing us from making the big next step. I really hope we develop and stick to a 3rd starter this year and hell even a midweek guy. It's been a constant rotation after Friday/Saturday.

All of them except Bain and Norman who have sucked as starters and let it carry over are good relievers. Definitely quality.

Tell me about how much Reynolds and Cartwright sucked last year. Gilbert in the pen was good. Newman of course. Kiel is here for 1 year to throw 95+ then head to the majors. And that's not even his best pitch! Hess is young and talented and Walker or Peterson could step up too. Did you not see our bullpen carry us half the year?

Reynolds got shelled at a .257 clip last year with a 4.08era. Cartwright was poised to have a decent year, but I'm just not sold on his recovery.

Again, who else is proven? Kiel hasn't played baseball but for 2 years. I refuse to put my faith in freshmen until they are proven: A la Cole McKay.

Beck has also logged a lot of hours in the fall. but hasn't faced true competition

Does that include the coaching staff comprised of young and inexperienced former Tigers?

In his defense, a coaching search would have required work, and he's not really a big fan of doing that.

Poche

I have a CSB from the other day with him:

My family and I were eating at The Coffee House in Sorrento and as we were leaving my Aunt said "Hey that's Chris Poche's Aunt and Uncle" (he is a guy I work with in the Air Force) So we walk over and I tell them I work with their nephew in the Air Force and I told them a story about how I came to find out he was cousins with Jared Poche... At that point they say we are Jared's parents (My Aunt failed to tell me that). I was surprised so all I said was well alright and said tell him we all thank him for returning for his senior season. They laughed and said he was supposed to come with them but he decided last second not to come.

I know, cool story bro.

What's the story on Kiel? I know he throws hard, but it looks like he has control issues. He walked 59 batters in 41 innings last year. Am I missing something, or is everyone just being optimistic and hoping that Dunn fixes him?

.257 is not exactly getting shelled.

Throws hard with a lot of movement. If Dunn can help him out with control he will be one of the best pitchers on the staff.

Well how about this then...He was below average compared to the rest of our pitching staff last year

ETA: And if you take away all guys who started at least 2 games last year, he has the highest opponent batting average. Do I need say more?

The team was replacing the entire lineup and most of the bullpen. What have you that idea?
