That ship has sailed
That TIDE has turned
My gumbo stuck
And then it burned

here are 2 teams i would say are better than us in the SEC. I don't think we are middle their at all

We are 9-7 over the last two seasons in conference play, with 6 of the 7 losses being by at least 2 touchdowns. Thats a middle of the pack team.

I don't think we were average in 2012. That team was 45 seconds away from back to back SEC championship games. There has been a dropoff since that season.

This post and thread truly shows what the Rant has become. The fact that we have to discuss if we enjoyed the greatest run in LSU football history is sad.

we had a bad season last season. And a better one this season.

We are probably the 4-5th team in the SEC depending on how you feel about UGa,

Thats not really middle of the pack

Loved every bit of it!

I started going to LSU games in the 90s, so I appreciated the success of the 2000s. I started at LSU in 2001 which I couldn't have timed any better.

Made plenty of home games, away games, bowl games and championship games. No regrets.

The SEC has become Alabama and everyone else. LSU is somewhere in the Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Ole Miss range.

If Les has a great season next year, we can quickly jump out of that middle. Another 4-4 type season though and it looks like our chances of being great have stalled out.

Yes and I think what some of the pumpers are saying is that do we have to be great to enjoy LSU FB? IDK, I came up in 60's & 70's where games where fun but we were not actually in the MNC picture maybe a few SEC titles and now as they say we were spoiled by the success therein but then again I do not want to settle for mediocrity or middle of pack! So yes I enjoyed it and the bar was raised.

This is a good question. I think LSU fans need to relearn to enjoy each team for what it is and get rid of the idea that it's championship or bust. Although admittedly, Les has kept that mantra going through his entire tenure.

Without question.

The championships, obviously, were thrilling.

And some of those games I'll never forget, even in the last couple years:

Florida 2010
Bama 2010
A&M 2013
Ole Miss 2014

Couldn't sleep I was so happy after all those games. The victory Gandalf pipe on the back porch listening to postgame--great times.

I was having a lot of fun in 2001, 2003. 2005-07 and 2011.

I think you are on to something though.

People point out the years LSU won the sec. But I was in school in 06. I went to every game that year, yes every home and away, And it all culminated with LSU beating the media darling NDs arse in Nola.

That is still my all-time favorite football season.

Over? Seriously?

It's not over.
I'll never accept that, I'm not hearing it.
