I would like to see the TE featured much more. If the run game is working, run outs with your receivers, play action to the RB, drop it right over the LBer's. At least 4 to 6 target's a game IMHO. I will say it's better now that Miles/Cam are no more.

I'm excited to see a new offense with the time to work on new plays and formations. Steve did what he could considering the circumstances and the results were noticeable.

Part of why we felt he was such a good match.

Pro style or dual threat doesn't matter in Canada's system. It's all the same offense

Loves is a bit overboard. I do think he utilizes pass catching TEs much better than what we've had though.

Canada is reputed to be very good at tailoring the offense to take advantage of players strengths, minimize players weaknesses and create mismatches against opponents.

This is what we need

This is all I'm asking for. Cam's main failing was that he had a "system" that he stuck with no matter who was on the field. His system worked great when he had guys who fit the mold he needed. Jennings, Harris and Etling were not those guys.

Of course, it's possible to go too far the other way. Sometimes I think Crowton called plays with a dart board. No central defining concept whatsoever.

Same thing goes for throwing to the backs out of the backfield. Fournette was way underutilized in the pass game but Guice will now get additional touches on swing passes & check downs.

I'm excited that CMC can adapt his offense to either style of QB depending on personnel. His offense is flexible.

Coach Ensminger utilized tight ends more in half a season than Cam and Les did in the entire both were here, it seems.

Me too patnuh. I know it's fashionable to pile on Les but it's true.

For me it wasn't run/pass ration as much as it was predictability and here it comes I'm better than you. It worked most of the time because we were better than the vast majority of the teams we played. But it wasn't against the better teams, specifically toward the end and kept lesser teams in games longer than was comfortable for me.

I personally can't wait to see some mis-direction.

What a journey this has been. Now we're back to wanting better TE play. Can't beat the rant

He did use them a lot in the pass game at Pitt. You will see them get a lot of looks on RPO plays as easy short pass options.

I find mobile QB's prefer TE's more than pro-styles.
