Why are you fricks in a hurry to fire JJ right now? This season has been over. Alleva is going to frick this up anyways, whether it be right now or after the season.
If LSU can save money by firing him after April, then yo arse gone have to wait. Basketball revenue is gone suck this year.

Because only the likes of those teams make the tournament.

Nope. No reason to fire him mid season and appoint interim coach. Alleva is not appointing Interim again. We can do the search without firing him.

I think Alleva doesn't want to fire two coaches during the season in the same year.

This may be true, but

It puts LSU in no advantage to fire him now.

This isn't. If the team somehow managed to win the SEC tourney, Jones would not be fired. Firing him now prevents that, thus it is an advantage. However unlikely that scenario may be, it's still a possibility.

What does tonight matter?

He wins tonight and anything changes? Of course not. We are just waiting to save the cash

Would LSU really wait nearly a month from the end of its season to let Jones go? Seems like they'd cut bait and start a search, especially with a mid-April signing period. Of course, I guess this IS Alleva we're talking about.

Yes, fire him and then start the endless speculation of a future coach! Brilliant.
Let the media begin spit balling potential candidates. Then we have the endless stream of denials and "I have no interest in other opportunities". Let's give AD's enough time to woo their current coaches with promises of more money.

I see the objective in your suggestion. It give us immediate help this season. It tips our hand. It may put egg on our face if we don't land "the" guy.

As for Alleva. You're right. He is far less knowledgeable than you and his only intention is to crater LSU athletics.

" What difference does it make ".
Hillary Clinton

How many games are left ? Let him coach out the next few games and then drop the hammer. Aleva has got to be working the phones, right ?

Be prepared for Alleva to botch this up and end up with anothe mediocre hire for low money. The biggest loser financially was womens basketball. It lost the most money of any sport while paying the coach a salary that is absolutely rediculous. Last I saw it was 750K. Don't have the numbers in front of me but womens basketball lost like 3.9 million.

LSU just isn't good. Simmons really put a damper on the program, Funny how these same fans criticizing Simmons after his interview special are now defending him to fit your agenda to fire JJ. Yall need to make up your mind.

The sooner he gets fired the more money they save, depending on how much of a bump in pay they give to the interim coach. His buy out is $400k per year with partial years prorated. That's about $33.33k a month. He's currently making $1.5M a year, which is $125k per year.

Here's a link to his contract. I haven't read it all, so if anyone can find an April date, please post what page it's on.

Uhh... you want me to recite his record off the top of my head to prove I'm a bball fan?

I know we're 1-13 in the SEC this year. Pretty great stuff.

They will not qualify for sec tournament if they lose this game and probably not even with win.
Bring back some old star or old coach for home games and let an assistant go on road.

Yes. Bring it to an end.

They may learn something.

Only 12 teams make sec tourney.

Lsu holds #14. Solid.

Team is going nowhere.

Now i admit that alleva could buy into a 3rd tier tournament and get crushed at home by a
23-6 mid major.

Releasing him before the season ends would be idiotic, even if you agree that he needs to go at the end of the season.

I don't think anyone can light a fire under these players.
