If Jennings plays terribly the entire bowl game, can anyone be excited for 2015?

Seriously, if Jennings plays the whole bowl game and looks the same as he has all season (terrible), how can anyone think 2015 will be "special" as I've seen it stated on this site?

Defense was ranked #1 in SEC this year. Still lost 4 games. So great defense won't push us over the hump with this QB. If he plays the whole game, he is pretty much guaranteed the starting job next year, especially with a difficult early schedule. I see nothing to be excited about for 2015, unless Harris gets significant playing time in bowl, which would show Miles is willing to give Harris a shot to be the starter. Looking like another 3-4 loss season.

well no matter what we will hear Jennings is improving in the spring. we will send him to the Manning passing academy and rave reviews will roll in about how great he is. Then we will see a continuation of this year.

its happened before, will happen again.

The defense was pretty bad in 2 of those 4 losses.

yea the d was horrendous vs state and auburn. The offense was also complete shite vs both of those until harris late in the state game. The auburn game was a putrid game plan by Les and cam. There shite plan made harris even worse. IMO we find out this coming season that cam isn't some miracle worker that everyone thought he would be.

If Anthony Jennings has a QB rating at or above this number, we have won every game we have played this year. If his QB rating is below this number, we have lost every game we have played this year.

That's not a very high bar.

I have no doubt of two things: 1) We will crush a ND team that has 9 injured starters on defense, with about a 50:15 R:P ratio. 2) With a few tweaks to his game during bowl practices, offseason work, and spring practices, Jennings can and will turn in performances better than that mark with regularity next season.

It will just assure people Harris should step into the starting role next year.

What's really going to be a hoot is if Jennings builds on the aTm gameplan, and with extra time to prepare he looks good enough to be the obvious starter going into spring.

Then, then the riots.

Might as well just cancel the games next year then.

I'm less concerned about Jennings and more concerned about playcalling. Play-calling was great against A&M. I am hopeful of seeing more of that.

Since your world seems to be nothing but darkness, I'll pose these questions to you:
1. What if Harris gets significant playing time, and what if he stinks up the place how will you survive?
2. What if Jennings plays lights out and wins the MVP award, how will your tender mental state hold up?

I think what's a worse scenario is if he does good.. How will that shake up with Harris going in to 2015?

Jennings at least looked serviceable vs a&m, mainly because we ran a lot of spread option attack. We do that more and he might improve some.

also don't be so sure we are going to take advantage of a injury decimated D. Cam had a broken down d vs ole miss in 2013 with Mett, OBJ, Hill, landry and managed to have a horrible game plan to attack it. He tried to have us air the ball out instead of grind them up first. We should have been grinding them on the ground and then hit deep.

the play calling vs a&m all game and the play calling in the second half of wisconsin is what we should have seen all year. It is what we should have worked on in the horrible gimme games instead of playing power I. I wont say we should have ran the spread option stuff 100 percent but we should have ran it more. It is what both our quarterbacks are actually good at, it is what our oline coach is good at coaching his linemen to do. We also are able to open up gaping holes in a defense when 3 wide shotgun with 2 actual running backs in. it allowed our linemen to block against 5 and 6 guys instead of 8 and 9 man boxes. I know it kills les and cam but formations with buga and williams are a much better option than any formation with neighbors.

JR made out well against a previous horrible Notre Dame defense. I wouldn't read anything into an exhibition game, especially against a Notre Dame defense.

You're right about that, but I doubt he makes the same mistake against ND. Grinding them on the ground is the only thing that's worked for us all year. This is going to be a 2013 Iowa or 2014 Ole Miss game, IMO.
