who couldn't sign one single in state player at Indiana the last three years and relied on national recruiting
6 players on 2016-2017 roster from indiana.
In the last 3 years, there have been 14 ESPN top 100 recruits out of Indiana.
Ole Tommy went 0/14
moving the goalposts..rather have Wade myself.

Dan Dakich (former Knight asst) was on ESPN Radio last week and referenced Crean going 0-5. Apparently he was talking about The last 5 Indiana Mr. Basketball, but you can't just criticize Crean. Hell, Only Caleb Swanigan (Purdue) stayed in state. Crean did sign some kid in 2009, Zeller in 2011 and Ferrell (runner up) to Gary Harris in 2012. The guy can recruit. He has pros in the NBA and on that Indiana roster now. He lost his starting guards TY after beating KU and UNC so he can coach. For whatever reason they didn't like him at IU. He recruits, he can coach and re-established IU. Do we doubt that IU is a hell of a lot better off than when he got there? Him vs Will Wade isn't even close.

I think he was pushed out to pursue Alford and try to nab him as quick as possible. Just doesn't make sense he won the big 10 last year.

If it's Crean vs Wade, then it's Crean hands down. Make him the 2nd highest paid coach in the SEC. It would be the biggest no doubt hire Alleva has made.

I would rather Wade in terms of long term success. shite, Wade could build his own program and shape a legacy here at LSU. Crean on the other hand could very well get us to where we want to be, but I'm not really sure that he's better than Wade long term.

I agree with you but King ain't paying top dollar or near to anybody.

How long-term are you thinking? Crean is only 50. He could be at LSU 20 years. Wade is younger, but I think that makes him a riskier hire than Crean.
Wade - 4 years total as HC at UT-Chatanooga/VCU (2 NCAAs)
Crean - 18 years as HC at Marquette/Indiana (10 NCAAs/3 Sweet 16s/1 Final 4)
If Crean is genuinely interested in LSU I would consider it a gift from the Hoop gods. I can't believe IU fired him.

Hasn't been established yet that Crean is actually interested in the LSU gig. But I'd consider him the best candidate out there. It seems many rantards believe everyting printed on the internet. a-hole or not, resume's count for more.

semjuise what makes you think the top two have low expectations for LSU , new coaches don't guarantee success unless they are dale brown and Les miles ,and where do you find them at , it takes some wisdom and a lot of luck and ignoring the rant !

Indiana really wants Steve Alford that's why Crean was let go. The guy won the conference just last year he'd have a job if they didn't think they could get Alford.

Dude couldn't win or recruit at a basketball school and you want him. X2

Thats simply not true. The fan base wanted Crean out for YEARS. Most think IU wants nothing to do with Alfred which is why Dan Dikau is complaining on ESPN non stop. We were you misinformed or just lying?
Posted on 3/20/17 at 3:42 pm to VCUPAV
Now that's completely not true. He won the big 10 last season he's had two 27 win seasons and a 29 win season in his last 6 years and they wanted him out? Nope.. Indiana fans maybe spoiled but they're not as stupid as ours.
Posted on 3/20/17 at 3:44 pm to HeadSlash
Lmao 138-66 in his last 6 seasons. He has recruited 3 top 10 picks and a handful of other pros and currently has two top recruits on his roster. He can't recruit? Lmfao love our fans nowhere else on earth can ppl so ignorant deliver their ignorance with such arrogance.

I would be ecstatic with either one.
