Why can't we just enjoy that we have excitement again after the early part of the season.

He needs to show that he can compete for titles while rotating coordinators every 2 years before he gets a raise or extension. That is what this entire situation is built on.

So, no, he does not deserve a raise and/or extension any time soon.

If he wins out he does not deserve an extension, but he does deserve some credit for turning things around.

Now, if he comes out next season and doesn't lay any eggs like this year. You have to consider it.

I am not a O guy but what he has done the past few weeks is impressive. I just want to see it continue through the end of the season and into next year before I say that I am satisfied with O as our ball coach.

The determination on a new contract should come during or at the conclusion of his third year. Period.

Why do you consider the wins over UF, Barn, and Ole Miss to be impressive?

Is it simply because of the Moo St. and Troy losses?

Or ... because those teams are considered good?

Or both?

I say give him an extension now.

Have to revisit the Alleva situation as well. 8 weeks in he's looks like quite the genius snagging Orgeron, who looks better than all of those other coaches he was being overlooked for. One could argue he saved LSU football.

After Troy I couldn't see that team winning another game, certainly not one on the road. The fact that they've won three in a row with two on the road and didn't fold like a cheap suit is fairly impressive.

Auburn's a good team. The other two, not so much. I don't know that I've seen anything in the last three games that gives me any real hope they can beat Bama, but the season doesn't hinge on winning that game. The last 3 are all winnable, which makes the season respectable and buys Orgeron a little more slack.

No other school is coming for him. It wouldn't be necessary until his contract comes up.

With his foot on the heads of Tom Herman (4 losses so far, could easily end with 6 losses) and Jimbo Fisher (4 losses so far, and could easily wind up with 7 losses).

I would only give the Cookie Monster an extension if he challenges Saban to a shirtless fight after the Bama game at the 50 yard line in Tuscaloosa.

Yeah, no schools are coming now.

But when we beat Bama and the schools come a knockin, how smart would it look to already have him locked up long term?

I would agree ... 9-3 ... f yeah, I'd take it.

Still don't like the hire. Probably never will.

If Orgeron beats bama, about 8% chance this happens btw recruiting could possibly really improve. Bama won’t seem like an unbeatable force .

Contract extension? He should be glad that big dummy gave him a $12 mil buyout.
