Pierre, you are absolutely right. I just think that the last play shows just how unorganized the entire team was at the end of the game as a whole.

my high school team did it my senior year..its really not that tough..failure to plan is planning to fail.
it did help our cause that LHSAA refs are just about as lost on the field than LM..took them about 20 seconds to set the ball.

What everyone is missing is that despite the fact that timout should have been called after the horrific call to Ridley on the swing pass in the flat for a 7 yard loss, Lafell caught the hail mary and hit the ground with 3 seconds left. First down stops the clock so we would have had time to spike the ball and have two maybe 1 second left with the clock stopped. Plenty of time for FG team to run on, get set snap and kick the winning FG, assuming a good snap, hold and kick. Mississippi has had to set their watches back one second when entering Louisiana. Now they no longer have to do that because we are even.

frick me people... the rules are not that difficult. There have been dozens of plays get off in this situation. Seriously this is amazing.

and it's not the rules that are in question. the clock stops until the chains are set and the refs are ready to play. in my opinion, the refs or chains were slow getting down the field giving us a slight advantage that we didn't take. so yes there is blame.
the point is and I don't know how many times i need to restate this is it should have never left up to some miracle pass and another miracle that the chain crew and refs couldn't get set.

Again Pierre I completely agree with you, but at the same time I am thinking that if you want to say it should never have come to that play, then you can say we should have done something else in the 3rd quarter to have pushed the score to a 2 possession lead for us.

I agree. There was plenty wrong with this game. I just get sick of this field goal debate.

yeah, i hear ya. i think it just the last impression and it was just SO obvious that a mistake was made that even the most casual football fan can see that LSU really fricked up.
