Don't care about bowl go to as much as finishing in the top tier in the sec, the rest will sort itself accordingly.

That would imply that I'm OK with "settling" for something less than a NC. So I have no answer. I want the best for LSU every year.

The sec took the best two sec west bowls the peach and cotton and replaced them with the Texas bowl and belk bowl. 2 years ago we would have been in the cotton in the exact same scenario.

I got that, but where would u want to fall if u miss, even if our only loss was the bama, and we dont make the playoffs, where do u want to play?

Don't forget that the Peach Bowl and the Cotton Bowl were taken out of the SEC selection process for this year. LSU would have likely ended up on one of those spots, probably the Cotton Bowl.

The Houston Bowl was a good landing spot for LSU, despite the moaning on the Rant by several ignorant posters.

The Peach and Cotton are now part of the New Year's Six bowls and will permanently be part of the rotation. There are no more conference tie-ins to those bowls.

1) NYD 6 Bowl
2) Sugar Bowl
3) Whatever

After the Sugar, I don't really see a huge difference. I know a lot of people would argue that the Citrus(Cap One) is more "prestigious" than the rest of the SEC tie-ins, but I don't feel that way personally. With the Peach and Cotton being pulled out, the new normal in the SEC moving forward will be some 8 or 9 win teams winding up in things like the Texas or Belk bowl. It's just the way it will be.

Yes and they were the number 2 from acc and big 12 respectively. The sec did the west no favors by not trying to find suitable replacement like the Alamo bowl or the holiday bowl for the west teams. The gator and outback 90% of the time will pick an east team. So if we miss a ny6/cap 1 (which the sec is pushing the cg loser to) then we are left with the Texas bowl. In 2002 we had a worse record and played a top 10 ut team in the cotton.

Well, the Peach Bowl didn't have the value it had when we played Clemson and Georgia Tech in those games, as it does now.

The hierarchy according to the conference now is:
1. CFB Playoff
2. Other 4 New Years 6 Bowl (with Sugar first if it isn't a semifinal)
3. Texas Bowl, Music City, Citrus, Outback, Belk, Taxslayer all on same level

My personal rankings mainly because certain bowls are familiar and traditionally have better name power:
1. Playoff
2. Sugar
3. Rose
4. Orange
5. Fiesta
6. Cotton
7. Peach
8. Citrus
9. Outback
10. Texas
11. Taxslayer
12. Music City
13. Belk
14. Liberty
15. Birmingham

If the Alamo Bowl would take an upper tier SEC team, I would be ok. I want to enjoy the destination as much as the game. It would fun to see our fanbase invade the Riverwalk. I believe it would be hilarious.
