I was hoping they would not have Coach O as Interim HC

Coach O is arguably the biggest piece of our coaching staff as the top recruiter and one of the best D-Line coaches in the country. My fear is losing him the same way USC lost him. Have him Interim HC, telling him he has a fair shake at the HC opportunity, then hiring an outside coach. I don't think we can afford to lose Coach O after the huge transformation he has brought to our D-Line and the big D-line haul we could be getting this year.

The difference is he's actually going to get a fair shake at the HC job. If he goes 7-1 and beats Bama I think he's in.

Actually I thought the same thing, hopefully he stays around if we hire someone else. But if he runs the table then he absolutely deserves the job

Why that is ridiculous. How much better will someone else do than he did at USC? He wil be fine

Well who else would you have made as the interim HC? Can't say I see anyone more qualified.

If they miss on Herman and Fisher they will keep O. I don't doubt it. LSU won't treat him like USC treated him.

If the next coach likes O, throw more money at him than there's ever been money thrown at an assistant coach and hope that he stays.

He'll definitely feel slighted if you don't make him interim HC.

I just hope he was promised a job no matter what.

I fear that even if he loses 3-4 more games this season that he will be kept as HC to save the program some money after buying out Les' contract.

Dude he is fine. He knows this is a one year deal and will be all in pulling out all the stops. He has nothing to lose. LSU football is about to be fun again. Win or lose it will not be this boring shite storm we have been watching

I do not get this O fascination.

Dude is as big a clown as Miles...the kind of guy that would willingly work for Kiffin.

He will be toxic if he doesn't get the job. No way we keep him now if he isn't HC when it is over. I was hoping someone else too.

From what I understand is coach O was straight up lied to, he was told that if his team met these standards then he would be the guy and he achieved the requirements and the spurred him. That's why he left, we were upfront that he won't be on the top of our list at the seasons end.
