Peyton Manning is on his last leg so far as being able to physically handle the wear and tear that players endure during a lengthy career of football. But mentally, he is one of those guys that will never be finished with the game until the day he dies. But here are the reasons why I think that we should try to get Peyton as the new Offensive Coordinator:

1. Recruiting (Archie, Eli, and Peyton Manning's football camp) It has been here going on 21 years and can hand pick the best QBs in the country.

2. Quarterback development (He is Peyton Manning!!) He will teach a quarterback how to be a student of the game. They need to learn that as a quarterback you are a leader and have to always be the first to arrive, and the last to leave in order to be a field general! This will help them stay prepared.

3. Adjustments - He will be able to call adjustments in the game, which has been something that we haven't been able to do since Cam Cameron's arrival. (Remember Omaha, Omaha!)

4. Able to insert an Audible. He believes in the short passing game, and quick throws to maintain positive yardage(quick slant, 5 yard curl, 5 yard out, etc.)

5. He will not abandon the run game! through out his entire career, if the run is open he will call it. Even if he is in a single back set, if its open he would call a draw in a minute.

6. He won't be so predictable. I mean 1st and second down for the first 5 drives has been the same in every game except the Arkansas game.

We have the resources to pay (15-20 mil buyout), so why wouldn't we try to get one of the best offensive minded football player in the last decade to help us cross this slump we have been in? If not then more than likely we will be going against him in in the future!!

Quarterback coach, not offensive coordinator

He'd be an awful OC

And it's a pipe dream. If he is going anywhere it's going to be Tenn

We should just hire Nick Saban as DC while we're at it.

Peyton has to be worth $100+ million. If I were him, I wouldn't even answer the phone.

Strangely enough.. this isn't the first time I've heard PM's name brought about about an LSU football opening in the past 48 hours.

We don't know if Peyton wants to coach or even has the ability to coach. Great athletes rarely make the best teachers. It's usually the journeyman who goes on to excel at coaching.

At any rate, you don't give a guy with zero experience a Power 5 coaching job, even as a position coach, much less a coordinator, regardless of his last name. I shouldn't have to be pointing this out..

Sure, a guy worth a half billion dollars wants to come coach college football.

To the guy who posted that he was worth at least $100 million. You're on the right track, but Peyton is worth waaay more than that. He makes money in ways you'd never imagine. I stumbled across information on one of his money making schemes, and I was shocked at the audacity and the effectiveness of it.

LSU needs to snag Sean Payton as OC before he heads to the Dolphins.
