I was at the game. It was really unbelievable how open that guy was and how he kept draining 3's. Dude was on fire.

Johnny had no idea how to defend a basic offensive set.

It was like Danny Manning was playing checkers while Jones was playing Mr. Potato Head.

Pretty much sums up Jones entire coaching career

And our post players have yet to figure out how to defend it. What is most confusing is that each player defended it differently.

That tells you that they haven't worked on this in practice and each player is either reverting back to how his HS coach defended it or just guessing

It isn't on the post players. They help the guards nearly every possession and the guards stand there and expect the big guy to run back out on their man after the pass.

We play a lousy sag defense and our guards play lackluster and carefree. They are routinely the last ones back on defense and do nothing to slow down the ball carrier in transition defense.

Some of our post players lag and some hedge and never recover. Guards aren't great either, but last night exposed that our post players have no idea how to handle the high ball screen.

ETA - what makes it worse is that JJ said in a post game interview that we knew they were going to run a lot of pick and pop...but somehow we looked like we had never seen one.
