The nfl would rather the player not play. Less wear & tear on the body.

I don't necessarily agree with this. NFL evaluators want data and game tape, especially recent game tape, because data reduces the uncertainty associated with their limited draft selections.

cfb is gonna get pretty shitty if kids can just play 2, or one with a redshirt, then sit their 3rd when you were counting on them for some wins.

Players who leave after year 3 aren't going to be redshirting (unless it's a medical redshirt).

maybe you misunderstand. RS the true freshman year, have a blow-out year 2, sit year 3.

i can definitely see that happening

Like I said, for a select few that prove to be 1%’s as freshmen & sophomores, this will not matter. Guys like Chase or Stingley. Or Penei Sewell who won’t play football at all this year for Oregon. Or Trevor Lawrence.

Yes, but the tape is already in on Stingley. There is no uncertainty. Just like Chase.

This is blatantly not true. Lotta people around here hardly trying to hide the fact that they don’t give a shite about the players at all outside of what they do on the field, and the players are taking notice. Tyler Shelvin opts out because of concerns with Covid. Fans immediately proceed to calling him selfish and stupid. Yeah. That’s helpful.

To call a player names or personally attack them is wrong
other than Ryan Clark, I have seen very few individuals being name called or attacked. People have good reason to be upset about the timing of Chase's decision, especially after what he and his father have been saying in the weeks leading up to this.

K Bye. So tired of privileged entitled athletes. If you want to stay and play, good for you. Get an education and help yourself and your team. If not, go make your money but be prepared to join the real world for the first time in your lives. And I mean real world very loosely, it will be a job that pays you millions and you are still semi insulated from what everyday Americans deal with at work but you'll be less insulated than your cushy locker room pod and dining hall.

I am POSITIVE the majority of the players read the rant regularly. They are young men, ego driven, not fully emotionally mature, and there is an online community that talks/argues/opines CONSTANTLY about them, and they just ignore it????

Wonder what admins see differently today.

It doesn't surprise me that Trevor wants to play. It doesn't surprise me that Chase is opting out. I think both decisions make sense.

It would surprise the shite out of me if either of them are doing much of anything because of this.
