I think SEC west champs with an NY6 bid is realistic.

Maybe even SEC champs because hell, if we make it that far, anything is on the table except the playoff.

That’s usually how it works if you keep winning.

Were you alive in 2007?

I think if bobby bouche comes back at halftime, the muddogs could win the bourbon bowl

I was also alive for many seasons before and after. That season was historic in how chaotic it was. By normal CFB standards this season has been chalkier than usual. I wouldn't hold my breath for a 2007 repeat. By this point in the 2007 season I don't believe we had any undefeated teams except Hawaii and Kansas. I think Ohio State lost to Illinois around this time

The playoffs are very much on the table if we win the SEC Championship.

I think there’s about a 75% they get in the playoffs if they win out

So when LSU beats Missouri in the SEC championship, 1 loss Georgia will make the playoff, leaving out SEC champions LSU?

Last year there were 6 P5 undefeateds by the time of the first CFP rankings.

This year-5.

For all the talk 1-2 weeks ago about the pac 12 last year there were 3 1 or less loss pac 12 teams. This year there are 2.

Last year there was an undefeated big 12 team. This year none.

Still more than most years.

2014 - 2
2015 - 8
2016 - 4
2017 - 4
2018 - 3 (including ND)
2019 - 7
2020- don't even want to count because some teams had only played like 3 games
2021 - 4
2022 - 6

So yeah more than usual. And nowhere near comparable to 2007 is my point.

Since you arbitrarily cut it off at 2014 with the lowest in a decade I’ll include 2013 which had 6.

So for the past 10 seasons (excluding 2020) there is a mean of 4.9 undefeated p5 teams. The median is 4.5.

So this is exactly a dead normal year.

Nice underhanded jab at the tigers you dick

Nah for real though you probably right. It will take a good bit of luck for LSU to make the playoffs even if they win out. But here’s to hoping the luck will be on LSUs side just like 07

Remaining unbeatens are:
Michigan will beat OSU.
OSU will lose to Michigan.
FSU will win out.
Washington will lose to Utah.
Georgia will lose to LSU in the SECCG. LSU gets in over 1-loss OSU, UGA, and Washington due to the committee emphasizing end-of-season and championships.

Washington loses this weekend at USC.

There is a non zero possibility that the Big12 eliminates itself this weekend with KSU@UT and OU @ okie state which seems to be finding itself

Never say never...2007 after Arky game seemed even less likely!
