If that's the case then why did he even bother hiring new coaches?

Who would have predicted that Les Miles would become more evil than Nick Saban?

Yes, I could see the Great Coaching Search of 2016 becoming a super-sized clusterfrick.

Thus the lack of a paradigm shift this year

The lack of paradigm shift is because of what happened last November, but not for the reason you think.

What happened last November was a power struggle and Les came out on top. He's not changing anything because he feels bulletproof and believes he doesn't have to change.

In short...arrogance. That's why no change. It's HIS program, and by damn, NOBODY is going to tell HIM how to do things. It's also the main reason we haven't had an OC that wasn't either a figurehead or a stooge since Crowton.

I supported and defended Miles until the last few years. His heart was ripped out 1/9/12 because he failed to prepare. He lost all drive. His offensive game plan is actually getting worse each year. There us very little misdirection in the play calling and even less of an attempt to attack mismatches. Almost no attempt to throw to the TE or RB. I could go on and on. Then he defends his junior high offense like we are stupid.

Any coach who isn't coaching to dominate his opponent needs to find another job. Miles has bypassed that mindset a long time ago.
