And that's exactly what the OP said. Even under Miles drunken offensive philosophy, few people would have anticipated an 8-4 season
And there is no way you compete for the west with 3/4 losses
Expectations have been lowered for O. If that's the case, then he needs to be sent packing

I'll say it again. WE HAVE NO TALENT ON THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE!!!!!!! It doesn't matter who's coaching or who your skill people are if you can't block anyone you can't be successful!! If you're playing a 2 man interior line rotation on defense you're not going to be able to stop people for very long. If you couple these two things you get what we are seeing now and it has nothing to do with O, Canada or Aranda. Look at our splits, in the first half our D is very good but in the second half when the Dline wears out we are nearly even. 1st half score LSU 63 opponents 23 second half LSU 51 opponents 50. It's no mystery why we struggle in the second half.

That's simply not true. Expectations differ with every season and saying they don't is just dishonest. Nobody sane person expected the same results in 07 and 08 nobody expected the same results in 2014 that they did in 2011. This narrative that LSU has to win 10+ games every season no matter the situation is just stupid and it's never been true. The reason Miles was under constant scrutiny was because he inherited one of the most talented rosters in history and had them mostly together for 3 seasons but failed in the first 2. The Miles wasting talent narrative is really only referring to 3 seasons, 05,06 and 2013, the Miles apologist as always exaggerated this and created this BS that the other fans thought he should go 14-0 every year and that's just not true.

I gotta disagree, we had a star studded roster just last year. We expected to compete for every possible championship going into the season. Not having a QB or a decent offensive coordinator ruined that. The talent was there though.

I have been going to games since 1982 when I started grad school at LSU and remember plenty of years when the goal was a winning season! Not a lot of SEC championships during these past 35 years. A goal, yes. An expectation, not so much.

Going off recruiting rankings, O inherited a more talented team.
While they don't tell the whole story, transfers, injuries, players bolting for the NFL, there is a correlation with top classes and championships. Plus every school sees roster turn over.
