Despite the turmoil of a mid-season coaching change, LSU: a) completely beat the shite out of 5 of its remaining opponents; b) killed the SEC East champion in every way except the scoreboard; and, c) gave the SEC West champion (and consensus No. 1 team) its toughest game. I suspect that with a staff HE selects.and a full Spring and Fall this coach might just be able to do something special. Or, you can just shite on him.
Logic has no place here. Just like in organized religion.

It was nice while it lasted, but I can now sit back and just enjoy college football and no longer have to worry about LSU being elite.

Best we can hope for is to retain the elite La talent and play spoiler every now and then.

But sitting here watching bama drill auburn, I realize LSU would have never done what would have been necessary to keep Saban long term.
Y'all are really miserable tonight. Please don't reinvent history to meet your miserable needs.
LSU bent over backwards to keep the little bastard here. At the end of every season he/Sexton would rake LSU over the coals. Nick had an obsession with the NFL. He would never under any circumstances have stayed at LSU.

Clownish LSU "fans" like the majority in this thread are the reason LSU doesn't deserve better. I'm enjoying your misery more than I did Hillary's supporters after the election. Little shits from the Participation Trophy generation lashing out because they didn't get their way. Suck it up you little pussies.

Well it's been widely reported that Texas offered Saban 10 million a year, but guess where he's still coaching.
The simple fact is that bama will do anything to be elite, LSU, not so much.

It pisses me off when something I love that could be great settles for mediocrity. Pretty much sums up Louisiana though, and why it will always be a basement dweller state. Way too much backward thinking and settleing. Savannah was smart to get out when he did, there was nowhere to go but down.

Miles was better at LSU than Saban was at LSU.
Troll much?
Bull! Saban has built two programs while Miles inherited one and let it wither.
Are you expecting Miles to have the success of Saban on his next gig?

Thats right Op, you just a band wagon fan. How dare you LSU to try and win championships every year. How dare you question our lord alleva. He knows what is best for you.

Truth.
Not saying O isn't going to be good but LSU definitely isn't willing to step up like Bama, OSU and Michigan. That's why they are ranked where they are and we are where we are.
I still hate Saban.

Twisting logic doesn't strengthen your position.
What the hell does TX offering him any amount at Bama have to do with him leaving LSU to go to the NFL. Saban flirted with the NFL every year he was here. He was totally obsessed with going to the NFL. There was nothing LSU could have done to keep him here. He was on a mission.
Saban has stayed at Bama because he was humiliated at Miami. NFL players wouldn't put up with his abuse.

Saban left us man, for the NFL. There wasn't a damn thing we could have done about it.
Saban had an itch that LSU couldn't scratch. Saban used LSU as a stepping stone for a head coaching position in the NFL. It's amazing that there is still fans that pine for the guy.

I haven't hated saban since 1/9..

why are you sitting here thinking about Saban today? You do realize that LSU just hired a new Head Coach today don't you? Very weird.

I mean, why wouldn't you though?
So fricking close to what Alabama is experiencing...so close.

I think this gets overlooked a lot. shite, we set offensive records with a fricking TE coach calling the plays. If (and it's still a HUGE if) Coach O can land a big time OC, LSU could be extremely dangerous next season.
