Cool. Glad to hear you will survive for many seasons to come.

I am curious though. If Houston is the mecca for this treatment, why Philly?

My wife has been to MD Anderson for two different cancers, throat and pancreas. She came home both times cancer free. It is a wonderful place. Prayers are with you.

Yeah I don't know anything about you condition but get rid of the eye... you have another assuming that is an option. Either way good luck, stay positive, that is very important. And none of this crap about staying around long enough to see our 3rd BCS championship, you must stay for next season to because we do it all again next season.

Hope that today's surgery means that it is all contained within the eye and that this will be the extent of your troubles. Having a plan going forward will help ease your anxiety.

Also, you'll still be able to see better than 75% of the drunk bastards going into Tiger Stadium each Saturday. So you've got that going for you

hopefully all has gone well and your healing begins now...please keep us posted on your progress...

FWIW, I just had the wierdest thought....you should get some tiger-fan optometrist in the BR area to make you a special "tiger eye" to put in on game days....

The eye was removed by noon yesterday, I was on a plane by 3:30 and got back home at 10 last night, quick huh? lol.

Doctors Jerry and Carol shields of the the Wills Eye Institute in Philly are the Pioneers of the Eye implant of today. They take the original eye out, put in a generic ball, surgically connect it to the muscles that allow the eye to move in unison with my good eye. In 6 weeks Ill see another Doctor who will fit something like a contact lens on the ball, then an artist will be called in, he will paint the lens to match my other eye perfectly. No one will ever know the difference because it will follow the movements of the other eye and look identical. There is a 50% chance that the cancer will show up in the lungs and or liver at some point, I choose to bet on the 50% that it wont. I did want to say that your prayers have worked, each time terror and anxiety set in, God has put someone or something in my path to put me at immediate peace. Never underestimate the power of Tiger Rant !!!!!!!!!!
