Oh their star running back was out due to injury? Weird. Committee should have dropped them out of the playoffs.

TCU was not balling lmao. They had just lost their conference championship. That is not “balling”

You do realize that's the discussion that's being had now, right? Is about whether it should matter or not, clown.

So they didn’t learn it the first 5-6 times but they will this year? Ok

Original poster tried to make the point that TCU should have never been in. Then TCU gets in and upsets Michigan.

He was trying to make the point that whoever draws FSU gets an auto bid to the championship. It’s not true, looking just back to last year

Gets a little weird there, though. FSU will be undefeated (if they pull this one out) and will have just won the conference championship WITH the injury. And isn’t 2nd string QB playing after this game? I’d be shocked if FSU wins and they get left out.

If fsu wins, they should be in. When did we all forget about defense? I get their offense isnt performing the greatest, although the receivers aren’t helping their qb any, but that defense is pretty salty.

It’s equivalent to Ricky Collins playing this game for us and Nuss coming back for the playoffs while JD is out for the season.

If FSU hangs on they should be in. Winning a championship game with your 3rd string QB is great

They also beat their rival on the road with their backup. Alabama needed a Hail Mary with their starter to do the same

By who? they have no criteria or standards they go by every week or for the final. They pick and choice random reasons for their choices. Eye Test is the excuse they use when its close and they cannot explain why the put one team over another and they use that excuse because it is subjective. What looks good to you may not look good to another.

This is a good metaphor. FSU if they win is playing with house money tonight. Conference championship with a 3rd string freshman QB, and your 2nd string is coming back? Undefeated? There is absolutely no way that the SEC-fatigued committee lets Bama in. Sorry, shoulda taken care of business against Texas.

The whole season matters. If you took an 0-8 team and suddenly put in all pros in disguise and they were beating every team from there 100-0 and would clearly boat race any team in history, they don't get to just be in the playoff because they're the best in that instant. You're playing to be the season's champion, not the champion for that moment.

If injuries are stipulated in the selection process, then I stand corrected. This FSU is horrible, even for 3rd string. I don’t need to see anything else then. It’s Texas and Bama.

This is unfair to either Bama or Fla St or would they dare Texas?

I feel for all thats associated including fans of the 1 that gets left out.

Somebody needs to think outside the box and at least postpone the decision a few hours.

You have a good point but I’ll make it realistic. Team A is defending national champs with Heisman trophy winning QB. They start 5-0, killing everyone, star QB goes down for a few weeks and they lose all three games. He returns and they finish the season blowing everyone out and win their conference. They’re 10-3 and prob the best team in the county but they’re also not going to the playoffs because they lost 3 games. “Best team” is being used not for its intent. Winning all your games is going to be the most important metric. It always has been. If you’re in a major conference and go undefeated, you’re not getting left out for a 1 loss team

He’d taken zero snaps or reps w the starters all season until last week and is a true freshman. He’s playing like you’d expect

makes me wonder would FSU have been better off just lying about Travis' injury? If they pretended he would be back by the playoffs would FSU still be in with a win?
