Only difference was a better fg kicker.

Two straight seasons with a pretty poor showing in the first (real) game.

Luckily they looked lots better against uf and aub.

Auburn didn't look bad. We looked worse.

The biggest improvements are still from the 1st to 2nd game. Even LSU makes those improvements (see last year). Our receivers make some more catches and Leonard doesn't go down late, we probably squeeze our a victory consistent with what we usually do early in the season. I wonder if the plan was to stick to what works early in the season because we usually still blow teams out of the water that way and then really open it up later where we've been struggling, especially because we were starting off in a hostile environment. I keep thinking Les can't be this blind and hard headed. I'm still holding out hope because as a fan that's all I can really do. I'm not gonna not support the team.

I don't think you understand what he was saying.

We looked much better last season against a State team that's better than this Wisconsin team. Did we do anything right this past Saturday other than a decent showing on defense?

Dude, no joke, I was literally just about to post this exact same thing. Fournette also carried the offense in that game, becoming a one man army.

Like you said, the difference was a missed chip shot FG and a made long FG.

Miles is faced with these situations numerous times, and yet never learns from them. When people get on LSU fans for thinking their team should be better, they don't understand just how incompetent Miles is.

LSU scored 3 offensive TDs against Miss. St.. they still didn't look great but they looked a helluva lot better in that game then that shiteshow in Wisconsin.

Wat, we looked so much better offensively in that game (particularly in the first half). Also, if I recall correctly we had a TD called back for a bs penalty

If we played like we played at Miss State last year we would have won 30-10. This game has no comparison at all. We played a mediocre team and got smashed.

Wisconsin might not win 7 games.

And we were barely beat WIsconsin in Dallas two years ago.

P.S.
I had a conversation with my cousin about how crazy it is that we were really close to losing the last 3 opening games...

We literally had to pray for a missed field goal last year...

OL looked bad to start last year also. Miles turned it around and will do so again.

No.
If our O-Line had played like it did against MS. State, Wisconsin would've been kicking that field goal to cut the score to 14. Not go up by 2.

It's unlikely Wisconsin wins more than 7 games. They have a brutal stretch in Sept-Oct which is as follows: @ Mich St, @ Mich, Ohio St., @ Iowa, Nebraska. They're unlikely to win even one of those games.

We weren't exactly crisp against Syracuse either. Leonard bailed us out in that game as well.

State game last year defines the problem. We looked good on offense, got like a 2 score lead and then shut it down, conservative mode. Harris had confidence throwing. No matter. Shut it down. One year later our QB basically plays like he has PTSD (thanks coach), and we are even more conservative looking. Miles has some bizarre paranoia about QB play that screws up his own QBs and cripples his offenses. Note the only decent QBs he had started under different head coaches....

It was similar. State started controlling the clock etc. By the 3rd our D was gassed and everyone chalked up the poor play to the lightening storm vs Mcneese.

They aren't really that similar.

In the MSU game, LSU was up 21-6 and dominated the ground game up until the 4th quarter. It was also LSU's first game and MSU's second, so they had an advantage.

This game LSU sucked, period. Very different.

Naw. First half was called very well by cam and miles took over and closed things down once we took the lead and almost lost the game. Last sat we take lead and defense gets b2b2b stops and of course even though we throw it's pretty much just vertical and the usual runs even though we had momentum and basically our foot on their throats.

We actually got out to a decent start offensively in that game.

We were fortunate they missed the kick though, Miles pretty much blew that game taking the foot off the gas in the 2nd quarter.
