Corey Raymond may not be who he was 8-12 years ago, but still a major upgrade from this past season. He still knows Louisiana recruiting. If you can't get the athletes you are at a disadvantage, even with Jesus Christ as your DB coach.

I know, 7 years of elite DB play sucks

You think he was fired at Florida because he had elite defensive back play? How about you take a look at what somebody has done more recently rather than what they did 9 years ago.

And he was fired at Florida even though he was beating LSU for Louisiana recruits. That tells you how bad he is as a coach, despite being a good recruiter.

I think he was fired from Florida because they found out he was talking to LSU. You’re about to see it.

Raymond got lazy and unmotivated under O. I think if given the opportunity BK will re-light the fire in him. He can recruit and develop DB’s and there is a ton of evidence to support that.

I heard him and Napier had some major disagreements and kinda got public in front of the players.

I don’t remember if he had this issue with coach o at the end or not. But if it’s a trend and he becomes a mini Ryan Clark not buying in and voicing problems with any and every decision made by his bosses then I’d rather find someone else that can recruit LA DBs.. absolutely want zero cancer on the team

It was NOT Raymond. It was Aranda, Chavis and every other coach that dealt with the secondary. Bill Busch for example.

Why doesn’t Busch get any criticism for 2020? Why didn’t his superior coaching acumen come to the rescue?

I say try to grab him as an “analyst” that you let recruit.

Ausberry coming back to BR may be a clue that Corey is coming back. Long relationship goes all the way back to playing together in the 80s, and I’m not sure the kid would come back not knowing who coach would be.

Cory Raymond is the best D-secondary coach we’ve ever had at LSU

I honestly don't get bringing raymond back.

Maybe I don't know all the info on how his last couple of yrs under o went.

His recruiting and coaching seemed to fall off.

Why can't lsu go out and get a younger Corey raymond?
it did fall off. He didn't, subsequently, work any miracles at UF either.

Thats why I say we could do worse than Raymond, but we could do alot better.

To be objective:
- Raymond's fall occurred during a swap to zone and S were split off
- so what's Baker's, also the S coach, plan on running (primarily, he usually runs some form of hybrid)

I am involved in an event that Raymond sounds like he will be at. My take had been that he wouldn't be doing it with us this year if he wasn't coming back or at least trying to

I get people not wanting him back but calling Corey Raymond the cancer and not Coach O is hilarious

He didn’t coach Donte Jackson, Kevin Toliver, Greedy, or Tre White? He didn’t coach Flott and Stingley? Not Kristian Fulton? He only recruited them, definitely didn’t coach them?

Stay in Westlake. Look at the DCs and every where they coached with the position they coached. When Raymond arrived he had a talent pool that included TM7. Who schemed for TM7? Not Raymond.
Busch and Aranda worked together multiple times and it is well known that he ran that backend while they were together.
This is not a knock on him as a recruiter.

Yes coaching in general but I’m sure LSU would be his first choice.
