I hope Aranda doesn't get screwed over.

Hoping our hire isn't married to his DC.

I kind of wondered why Aranda came into an unstable situation being as hot a commodity as he was.

Hope he doesn't get done wrong in the transition.

This is why it has to be Herman IMO

He would keep Aranda for sure

Looks like he would be the most wanted DC free agent in the nation if he leaves LSU. How will he get screwed over?

I'm not concerned about Aranda either way, and I really dont think it will be Jimbo

It wouldn't have shocked me if Aranda had conversations with Herman, prior to taking the LSU job, in the event this situation occurred.

If we don't get Jimbo, I believe Herman would be delighted to keep Aranda on board. There are few DC's out there better than him. He might be at Houston if they paid their staff what we do. Apparently they are old friends.

His defense isn't exactly overwhelming any offenses so far!

Aranda is a great coach. He will be fine. He is too smart to have not taken all of this in account. I almost think he did this intentionally a s resume builder.

the new coach HAS to have the ability to bring in his own DC if he wants to.

Having said that, I absolutely want to retain Aranda. I've seen enough out of him and his defense to want that.

But, you can't decide that you are going to force a coordinator on a head coach.

Eh his worst case scenario is getting hired at another elite program and getting 3 times as much money as he would have gotten this year.

Also he was already playing for his second HC at Wisconsin.

He held Wisky to 16 points and AU to 18. Miss St was not as good. He has done well. I will admit I was surprised how well Chavis has done at A$M

Defense has been decent this season against mediocre opponents. Aranda is not the only person who can coach defense. Let the new new HC bring in the staff that he's comfortable with.

Exactly, not worried about him, he has a great chance to stay. I would think though that after having a conservative coach we now go after a more offensive minded coach. Given more time and with the athletes we have at LSU, don't see how anyone would want to let go of him.
